Uzbekistan Tours in August 2026

I never thought Uzbekistan would be the ideal trip destination, but when I was researching what trips CharlieTheTraveler offered, I was amazed at what they promised in this trip. I was even more blown away when they stayed true to everything they promised, as many touring companies always have some activity that falls through. We did everything and got everything that I expected!

I was bored of “normal” vacations and wanted something different and interesting. Upon finding CharlieTheTraveler’s trips and seeing positive reviews across the board, I decided on the Uzbekistan trip. I have absolutely no regrets as the trip was a unique experience that I would not have gotten if I planned the trip myself. I would have never known so much about the history or culture and been able to truly appreciate it as the company allowed me to do.

This trip was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It was unlike any other sight seeing tour I’ve done, as all of the activities were well executed and it was obvious CharlieTheTraveler was very familiar with the area (and the people!). I will be looking into the company to see what other tours I could book for myself! I enjoyed every part of Bukhara. I appreciated our tour guide stayed with us while exploring all of the sites in the city. He also had great recommendations for restaurants for lunch, which was refreshing, as I am used to having to research all of that on my own. When I say the company and tour guide knew the area, I mean it! They knew more than I ever expected!

The combination of mountain hiking and city sightseeing was what attracted me to this trip and it met my expectations. The hiking was very well organized with an excellent team of guide and support personnel. The sightseeing was organized flexibly in view of the intense heat.

This trip was, without doubt, an experience of a lifetime. Yes, it is fast-paced and there are some early starts and full days, but I look back now over the two weeks and I am genuinely staggered by the number of experiences we packed into our time in this fascinating part of the world. Watching eagle hunters at work (and holding a golden eagle myself), visiting stunning mosques and Orthodox churches, walking through the awe-inspiring Charyn Cannon (Kazakhstan), exploring Almaty and being taken to see the very interesting Tashkent metro stations, climbing a minaret in Khiva to gaze into Turkmenistan... I can honestly say that this trip made the most of our time there, and the itinerary is well planned to take into account different interests and needs of guests. Accommodation is clean, comfortable and full of local character. I don't recognise the description in a previous review of 'mediocre' establishments - that was not my experience at all. If you are interested in learning more about an often-forgotten part of Asia, definitely go for this trip - I would do it again in a heartbeat!

This is an incredible trip visiting 3 Stans. The scenery and hiking in Kyrgyzstan was spectacular and the Eagle hunter experience was a real highlight. All of the countries were fascinating and our guides Vitaliy and Dilshod were very knowledgable and gave us an interesting insight and history of each country. Visiting Samarkand and Bukhara was one of the reasons I went on this trip and the architecture is spectacular. Be prepared for hot days especially in Uzbekistan.
