Continue to the Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum (12th–16th centuries), a site shrouded in legend and revered by locals—home to a sacred spring said to have appeared when the biblical prophet Job struck the ground. Next, visit the Bolo-Hauz Mosque (18th–20th centuries), known for its graceful wooden columns and decorative ceiling, once frequented by the nobility of Bukhara. Just across the square stands the imposing Ark Fortress, an ancient citadel that functioned as a royal residence, housing everything from the emir’s court and treasury to the harem and prison. From above, its outline resembles the Big Dipper constellation—a celestial nod that locals love to share.

Then head outside the city to explore the Sitorai-Mokhi-Khosa Palace, the opulent summer residence of the last Emir of Bukhara. A fascinating blend of European and Central Asian design, this palace now houses the Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts, showcasing local craftsmanship in textiles, ceramics, and woodwork. End your day with a visit to the charming Chor-Minor Madrasah, one of Bukhara’s most unique landmarks.
