Laos Tours in Winter

Very good trip. In Siam Riep, it would have been good to have some free time and maybe some trips other than to temples (e.g. land mine rats). Otherwise, a very good trip overall.

A very varied trip from the mountains and villages of northern Laos to the splendour of Angkor Wat. There's a lot of travelling involved but it's part of the adventure - boat along the Mekong, bullet train, other boat trips, cycling around Don Kkon island etc. Very good hotels and food. You can get a Cambodian visa at the border (cost c. $33)

Absolutely wonderful trip, brilliantly planned and organised by Explore. Full on but not rushed, a lot of ground covered excellent introduction to this wonderful country and its people. Great variation of mode of transport - best suited to the experience and always ready and waiting for us - local long boats, 4 wheel drives, minibus, plane and train to access special places in Laos too numerous to list here. Very good hotels always, some truly fabulous…loved it!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Laos. Our group was great fun and the guides did a good job, although sometimes it was confusing having a local guide and a lead guide. The itinerary was good and varied. Hotels were OK given standards in Laos, although the one in Vang Vieng was less good. Packing advice from Explore was somewhat bewildering. Never did work out why suitcases were not recommended. We did take our bicycle helmets but nobody else did!

Beautiful and well-planned holiday with activities that both parents and children enjoyed. The tour guide was excellent with the children; he went above and above to give us detailed information about his home country, his family, what it's like to grow up there. We felt so welcomed there.

Visiting Laos was everything I had expected. Vivid nature, voluptuous landscapes and a vibrant, hardworking culture. The Highlights of Laos tour with Explore showcased each place perfectly with plenty of things to see and do plus plenty of free time to explore each place. I definitely recommend this tour & I look forward to travelling with Explore again.
