Arrive in Luang Prabang and take a 3.5-hour drive directly to your hotel in the village of Nong Khiaw, also known as Nong Kiau. Less visited than Luang Prabang or Vang Vieng, Nong Khiaw is no less beautiful. Discover why this village is predicted to become Laos’ next big destination, thanks to its stunning natural setting, river cruises, and nearby viewpoints.

Check out of your hotel is set for later this afternoon. Begin your day 2.5 hours before sunrise with a steep hike to Pha Daeng Viewpoint, arguably the best lookout point in the country. After returning to your hotel for a well-earned rest, walk to the dock just outside and enjoy a boat ride along the Nam Ou River.

Upon arrival, explore Pha Noy Cave on a guided tour. Then continue on foot to the cave’s viewpoint, a spot that impresses even the most tired hikers. Conclude the visit with a walk to the charming village of Muang Ngoi Neua, where you can explore the main street dotted with local shops. Return by boat to Nong Khiaw, and then travel by land back to your hotel in Luang Prabang.

Note: Those who prefer to skip the steep hikes can opt out and still enjoy the rest of the day’s activities.

Start your morning with a traditional boat ride along the Mekong River. Visit a local village to sample rice wine and rice whisky, admire handmade textiles, and try plowing the fields with a water buffalo. Continue to Pak Ou Cave, home to numerous Buddha statues. Lunch is included on today’s tour.

Back in the city, walk to Wat Xiengthong for a guided tour of this stunning temple. Next, head to the base of Mount Phousi and take a 15-minute walk to the top. Enjoy panoramic views of the city, the river, and lush greenery as the sun sets.

End your evening on Luang Prabang’s most famous street, Sisavangvong, where you can explore temples, browse the night market, and experience the local nightlife. Take the opportunity to sample street food and soak in the vibrant atmosphere.

Before traveling by bullet train to Vang Vieng, visit Phosy Market to experience a bustling local morning market. Explore the National Museum, then drive to Kuang Si Waterfall, a popular spot for both locals and tourists to relax and swim. Once in Vang Vieng, enjoy the lively night market and soak in the vibrant evening atmosphere.

Start your morning with a hot-air balloon ride over Vang Vieng and its stunning landscape. Then head to the base of a mountain for a steep hike to Nam Xay Viewpoint. Those not fit enough for the hike can opt out.

Next, visit the Blue Lagoon, also known as Tham Phu Kham Cave, where you can explore the cave and enjoy a quick swim. Return to town for a meal before continuing your adventure.

After lunch, explore Tham Chang Cave on a guided tour. Then head to the kayaking starting point and begin your journey along the river. Stop first at Tham Nangfa, or Angel Cave, for a guided tour. Continue to Tham None, where you can enjoy tubing before returning to Vang Vieng by kayak.

After traveling from Vang Vieng to the capital city of Vientiane, visit Xieng Khuan, also known as Buddha Park, to admire its artistic spiritual statues and unique sculptures. Next, explore Wat Sisaket on a guided tour, followed by a visit to the Ho Phrakeo Museum across the street to see religious artwork on display.

Continue to That Luang Stupa, where you can explore the stupa and nearby temples. Then head to Patuxay Monument to view historical photo displays and walk up to the viewing platform for panoramic city views. Conclude your day with a stroll through the vibrant night market.

Your tour ends this morning. Transportation will be arranged to take you directly to the airport in Vientiane for a smooth departure.
