India Trekking Hiking Trips

A great trip. I had been most looking forward to achieving my first 6000m summit ( which I did 😊), but the trek itself was absolutely stunning. Fantastic coloured landscapes, very exciting river crossings, great array of alpine flowers (never seen so many eidelweiss in one place!), amazing food and crew. Would highly recommend this trip.

This trip exceeded all my expectations. The stillness and solitude of the terrain. The beauty. The glacial ascent. My first time at altitude-and I loved it. Valerie, is a very wise, steady and trusted lead-a humble holder of stories and knowledge. And great food and guides too. And a wonderful group spirit. I could not have asked for more.

My first high-altitude hike - the Nubra Valley trek - and all I can say is WOW! With Valerie Parkinson as our tour leader, we were set up for an unforgettable adventure from day one. The incredible cook, knowledgeable guides, and fantastic camp crew made every moment a joy. If you’re thinking of exploring the Nubra Valley, you simply can’t go wrong with this trip. The only challenge now? Deciding on my next adventure!

All trips need a number of key ingredients to come together to make it work. The first is an interesting and varied itinerary, the second an effective and efficient leader. Finally, your fellow travellers. We were fortunate enough to have all three on our late February 2025 visit and we had the most amazing & relaxing time really getting to see the real Kerala. There were also lots of local support staff (i.e. cooks, drivers, guides etc) and these also played their part behind the scenes to make it work. Thank you !

Mind blowing is what I’m thinking! What an adventure, the different monasteries were incredible! Hard to take in sometimes, and the scenery is out of this world! We couldn’t believe we were actually there at times. Very well run with Nawang being extremely informative. Margie was a pleasure and full of knowledge about the area. Food was great and our drivers fantastic.

This is a great trip as you get to see all the best spots in North India and Nepal, there are some long drives over bumpy roads in Nepal especially. Prepare fro some longer drives but this allows you to see the country side and get away from the larger cities. Bring some good walking shoes as we do a day hike in Pokhara.
