Experience Ladakh’s remote beauty beyond the well-trodden paths on the Beyond the Markha Valley trek. Over 15 days, this challenging small group hiking adventure departs from New Delhi, traversing the dramatic Markha Valley and ascending to the base of the Zalung Karpo La pass, leading into the tranquil expanse of Rupshu and the sparkling Tso Morari Lake. Designed for strong trekkers and seasoned adventurers, the itinerary offers a carefully refined route through some of Ladakh’s most inspiring and secluded landscapes. The unique selling point is the trip’s pioneering spirit—offering access to seldom-visited valleys and high-altitude wonders, perfect for those seeking a deeper, more rewarding trekking experience in India’s majestic highlands.
Beautiful scenario and very helpful staff. World Expedition provided an excellent service from the very start until the end of the journey, everything was well organized. All the equipment, hotels, campsites, food were very good. About the trekking itself was tougher than Everest Base Camp (as a reference) and quite hot, specially the 2 days that we walk a long time on dirty roads. For people who feels bad on steep places, there are a complicated descend after the Zalung La, it´s better warn. I saw an update of this trekking on the website, looking at the map it seems much better now, without this dirty road part. Good to know!
A superbly organised and managed adventure in a wild and culturally fascinating region of the planet. Scenery wonderful, people delightful, Nawang, the guide and his team created a homily environment that was impossible not to enjoy - especially for an elder age adventurer.
The Markha Valley trek in Ladakh was a great experience. Incredible scenery and a great team around us. Our Leader Tundup did an excellent job. Also Chandra in Delhi helped me out with a Taj Mahal visit. Only negative, is the amount of time we spend walking on dirt roads with cars driving past. Overall great to see this part of India.
World Expeditions organisation of our hiking trip to Ladakh couldn't have been better. The local representatives and guides were outstanding. Their expertise and their level of service were fantastic. A big thank you to the entire WE team for organising and managing a fabulous trip.
