Finland Tours and Trips for Seniors

The tour guide was personable and so informative. She enhanced our trip experience with cultural anecdotes and superb understanding of the environments of our tour. She kept us organized and safe. Nancy was enthusiastic and very caring. She is also innovative and creative. The accommodations were lovely. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The food was excellent in Helsinki. The breakfasts and lunches were good in Lapland and dinners were excellent. The visit with Santa was bizarre, unnerving and unpleasant. Really. You must evaluate that whole premise. The planetarium visit should have been part of the package. Visiting the art center and gift shop was powerful. Again, Nancy educated us on the lore and the realities of the Sami people and made the experience that much richer. The lecture/talk in the teepee/hut about the reindeer was fascinating. I especially enjoyed hearing the wrangler speak so knowledgeably and lovingly about the reindeer. The reindeer sleigh ride (and visiting the reindeer)was so beautiful. Chasing the northern lights was worthy of the effort though we didn't happen to see them. It was lovely to be "in nature." Mushing the dog sled team was wonderful but oh so scary. I had to speak more than once to the staff about airline flights. The second person in each instance was understanding and nice and accommodating. I have to look at my own behavior as perhaps not being helpful? on the first go- round? However, the address was wrong and I did not have an updated ticket to work with. I explained that I am an inexperienced traveler and her explanation of " just go to the counter" was not reassuring. The second agent reinforced the "go to the counter AND also sent me an email with the updated info. I was reassured. She also corrected the address for the Uber driver. None of the seat assignments matched my preferences; however, I believe that you did the best you could possibly do on those full flights, and I was happy to be inside the plane! I had a wonderful time on the trip. I don't want these minor hiccups to overshadow the enormity of the joy and pleasure associated with this trip to Finland. I recommend it whole-heartedly.

The itinerary was a good mix of activities and our tour manager was excellent. Are was always communicating with the group and kept everyone engaged. All tour guides were very good and made the activities very enjoyable. My most memorable experience was seeing the Northern Lights while on a reindeer sleigh.

Entire tour was outstanding. The Helsinki city tour was better than expected because the local guide, Maria, did a very good job explaining Finland’s political, religious and social backgrounds. Then we flew up to Lapland and I couldn’t have imagined how amazing that entire stay would turn out to be. We stayed in an igloo for 3 nights and it was bigger than expected. Meeting one of Santa’s elves and Santa himself was pleasant and fun. Going for a reindeer ride would’ve been a cool experience in itself, but then the Northern Lights appeared the entire time on that sleigh ride and, well, just wow!! But hands down, my favorite activity was the dog sledding, where we drove our own sled and those dogs were extremely fast! Soooo much fun! It was cold but it didn’t matter. Finally, the trip was made even better by our tour manager, Are, who made sure everyone’s needs were met, socialized with everyone in the group, participated right along with us in all activities and sent us emails at the end of each night recapping the day’s experiences and including thoughts that made us ponder. Entire tour turned out to be much more than I ever expected and now I’m looking at a Northern Lights tour in another location.

Everything about the tour was amazing. We got to see Nordin lights our tour guide. Mina was magnificent and the huskies sleigh ride and reindeer was so much fun. The only thing I have to say is the food at the lodge we stayed at Lapland need to up their game or provide more variety and flavor meaning more selections because our meals were included the meals in Helsinki were amazing the lapland Hotel need some new ideas or a new chief. Otherwise great trip and met new friends and have connected in the states

This tour is an amazing experience. The igloo nights put it over the top, and the reindeer sleigh ride and dog sledding were spectacular. The one and only improvement that is necessary is the food quality in Lapland. A more extensive breakfast buffet would be particularly welcome.

Our tour director, Meena was outstanding. The accommodations were interesting and comfortable. The food was mediocre.. not a lot of variety and when not included in the package, expensive for what the quality was. All other activities, including Dog mushing and reindeer sledding were different, but expected on a visit to Finland.
