Finland Tours in February 2026

First time snowshoeing and I’m already hooked! ❄️ Huge thanks to our guide Joonas for giving us the confidence to explore the Finnish wilderness – crossing frozen lakes, trekking through snow-laden forests, navigating tiny bridges over fast-flowing rapids, and sinking into snow up to our knees! What an unforgettable adventure! Basecamp Oulanka itself is a true highlight of this trip – a magical setting where you can step right out of your cabin and into an adventure, with hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing at your doorstep! The camp itself is so well-equipped and has every comfort. The cabins are cosy and warm. The main lodge has lots of comfy corners to sit and enjoy a hot drink from the complimentary tea and coffee station after a hike or sit by the fire in the evenings. The sauna and hot tub became part of our daily routine after active days out. I was also impressed by the kit that Basecamp provide, you literally could come with the basics and they will give you everything you need for the whole week. I found the snow boots and snowshoes themselves very comfortable!

Fantastic experience. Dog Sled ride was my favorite. The Northern Lights were spectacular on our last night in the Kakslauttanen Resort. Helsinki is a beautiful city with very friendly people. LOVED this trip!

This is an absolutely fabulous trip that I would not hesitate to recommend. I really wasn't sure how I would get on with a holiday in the cold as I am a warm weather person normally but I really enjoyed it. My feet and hands got cold sometimes but my body was warm all holiday - even in -24 watching the Northern Lights. The variety of activities is brilliant - I got to do so many things for the first time. I loved the Basecamp - so cosy with lovely staff and great food. The rooms are fairly small but are warm and comfortable with good storage space. I was fortunate to have an absolutely amazing group as well.

We've just returned from the Wilderness Week at Basecamp Oulanka and it's been brilliant. I can't believe that we managed to pack so much into one week. As complete novices to wintersports we weren't sure how we'd fare but wanted to give them a try, which we did and thoroughly enjoyed them all. The tuition from Elina, Martti and the team was really good, they are a really friendly team and were happy to ensure that we got the most from the trip. For example Elina gave my wife a one to one lesson in cross-country skiing after she had to miss the group session. The food was lovely, including some traditional Finnish dishes and plenty of it too. The accommodation in the cabins was warm and comfortable and we were supplied with all the kit we needed, which included three sets of boots to cover all the activities. I would wholeheartedly recommend the trip to anyone after an active holiday, as I have done to all our friends.

The tour was amazing!! Our guides( Epres, Nicky, Sergio) were professional and friendly. They brought us to several places just to find the best position for the Aurora, helped us to set the camera and took lots of pictures for us. They were willing to share their experiences and were patient to any questions we asked. The trip was unforgettable!!!

I took so many pictures and forgot about the cold until I could not press the shutter button of the camera anymore haha. Thanks for explaining how the Northern lights 'work' Sergio! You are a great guide and super friendly. Thank you Maria for being so enthusiastic. When we came home we got the show of a lifetime! The lights were everywhere! We could spot the colors with our own eyes it was amazing. We had red and pink and Magenta!! We screamed with joy!
