An extremely well organized trip that had an excellent variety of scenery. Our leader had an intimate knowledge of the history and was very considerate of individual needs. The hotels were decent and group dinners were fun. It was a memorable experience for all the right reasons even though it rained lightly one day
Had a blast hiking in Georgia! The leader, Tamar, was very knowledgeable and personable. The food was amazing and always shared style as it’s the local culture, this made it even better as you can try the various types of food at every meal. I ended up with mostly solo travellers in my group, which worked out great as I was travelling solo as well and we bonded.
Albi was a great guide. One of the best we have had with Explore. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about his country. The scenery of the Alps was amazing and all the Albanian people very friendly.
What made the trip most enjoyable was the tour director. You could tell he was very passionate about his country. His knowledge about its history was unbelievable and his storytelling was awesome. The little things he did for all of us made the trip even better. The tour itself was very historical which was why I wanted to do it. Staying in places from castles that were converted to hotels and newer hotels saws the difference and age of the country itself. The places that were chosen for meals were excellent, from an old pub and having supper with a laird and lady of a working day castle. Would recommend this tour.
See the best of Rome, Florence and Venice and get an authentic Italian experience. Easy pace allows you to unpack and stay in one place for 3 nights however it is not for people with mobility issues as there is quite a bit of walking involved. Maybe Insight should change the name if the tour or at least advise travel agents to inform prospective clients that this tour requires a lot of walking on uneven surfaces so you need to be fit and steady on your feet!
Scenery better day 3/4/5 of riding. Maybe start a bit further out as found getting out of Porto a little scary considering had just picked up bikes. Moov hotel Porto a little basic. Our tour leader David was exceptional 👏👏
