day 1 - Loch Lomond, Oban & Islay ferry
Edinburgh - Trossnachs National Park - Oban - Islay. Departing Edinburgh this morning, we head west, first visiting Trossnachs National Park. Admire some of the country's famous scenery and perhaps taste some regional delicacies. We then make our way through the mountainous Western Highlands to Oban, a port town once the strategic heartland of great feuding clans.
Modern Oban is known for two things, seafood and whisky. We have the opportunity to taste both, including a dram of locally produced whisky and an optional seafood lunch.
We then make our way through the Kilmartin Glen, home to standing stones and historic fortified strongholds dating back more than 1,500 years. At Kennacraig, we catch the ferry to the island of Islay. The crossing takes around 2 hours, and you can see the Paps of Jura as we sail past the island of Jura. Landing at Islay, we make our way to our accommodation in Bowmore.
Please note: Check-in closes at 08:15 on day 1 (tour departs at 08:30) - Edinburgh Bus Station Pick Up, Gate J and Gate K, inside Edinburgh Bus Station, St Andrew Square, Edinburgh, EH1 3DQ.

The final distillery visit of the day is to the most remote distillery on Islay, Bunnahabhain (included from April 2026). We then travel through the beautiful countryside to Bowmore, where the evening is at leisure.
**Kilchoman Distillery closure, if the tour departs on 6th September 2025, we'll visit Ardnahoe Distillery.

Today we are exploring the southern half of Islay, one of the most beautiful of the Scottish Isles. First we visit the distillery at Ardbeg, owned by Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy! There's an included tour and tasting here.
The final distillery of our tour is Laphroaig, a 200-year-old distiller known to be a favourite of the British Royal Family.
Throughout the day, we will also stop at some of the island's main highlights. See the historic ruins of Kildalton church and Dunyvaig Castle, which was once held by the chiefs of the Clan MacDonald of Dunnyveg. We then return to Bowmore for our last night on Islay.
Please note: Laphroaig’s silent seasons starts between 7th July and 13th August 2025. For tours departing during that time, our experience will slightly differ, you will visit their museum and do tasting at the bar only.
Please note: On Friday departures, Ardbeg Distillery does not offer a tour of the production process. Instead, this is replaced by a tutored tasting featuring four drams instead of the usual three, along with a visit to the stillhouse.

Starting at the village of Drymen just outside Glasgow, it includes Loch Lomond, valley routes through the mountains round Crianlarich and open heather moorland across the Rannoch Moor wilderness area. It passes close to somber Glencoe, famed for its massacre of the MacDonald Clan, and finishes at Fort William near the foot of Ben Nevis (Britain's highest peak, which can be readily ascended by experienced clients if they choose to spend an extra day). The West Highland Way is a well-established and popular route, containing some landscapes of great beauty. The altitude range is from sea level to 1850 ft (4408 ft if Ben Nevis is climbed).

Experience the most dramatic section of Wainwright’s legendary Coast to Coast route on this self-guided walking holiday from the Irish Sea at St Bees to the market town of Kirkby Stephen. It’s ideal if you’re short on time, new to long-distance walking, or want to enjoy the trail at an easier pace while still experiencing the best-loved landscapes of the Coast to Coast.
Your journey begins by dipping your boots in the Irish Sea at St Bees, then heading east with the prevailing wind at your back. You’ll walk through dramatic valleys such as Ennerdale, Borrowdale, and Patterdale, pass shimmering lakes, and cross high passes with the option to tackle famous summits like Helvellyn. As the Lake District fells give way to the gentler landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales, you’ll finish in Kirkby Stephen, a charming market town on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales with rail links—perfect for a celebratory rest after an inspiring week on the trail.

An attractive cycle tour of Cornwall taking in the villages and attractions that speckle the coastline. Cornwall is very much a holiday county with beaches, famous cornish pasties, pirates, shipwrecks and the roaring sea. This bike tour is so much more, it is a journey through a varying landscape of inland heaths and downs, rolling hills and tumbling coastlines. There are sheltered coves and beautiful rivers, castles and gardens to visit, some flat trails away from the traffic and then some hilly minor road routes. Cyclists for this ride need to be fairly fit. The daily rides are kept relatively short; the longest day is only approx 30 miles (50km) however it can be windy. This allows plenty of time to see Cornwall the way that you want to!
