The trip is quite long and can feel a bit repetitive. Most of the stops are in very small towns where there isn’t much to see or do. Many of the activities offered — like bungee jumping, quad biking, etc. — aren’t really connected to the places themselves and are things you could do almost anywhere, often for a lower price. If your idea of a great trip is binge drinking at a random bar and then going to sleep, this might be perfect for you. That said, our guide was excellent and did a fantastic job keeping the group’s energy and spirits high throughout the journey.

The Ultimate New Zealand was a great way to get out and see NZ. I travelled by myself and would have otherwise lacked the confidence to go. It was a convenient and comfortable way to see lots of the country and meet new people. The tour guide and bus driver were friendly and very knowledgeable. Some of the accommodation on the trip wasn’t the best given the price. Franz Joseph had rickety bunk beds and the pods in Queenstown were very small for 4 nights. Additionally, the modular element of the trip wasn’t great. It isn’t clear prior to booking that multiple groups come and go. I think it would have been better for group dynamics to have one group throughout.

This was my first ever Conktiki trip and overseas holiday, and it was just amazing. From the people I met on the tour, to our amazing trip manager and our driver. To the spectacular scenery of New Zealand, this was truly a trip of a lifetime, and I would highly recommend going to New Zealand if you have the chance. It has provided me with countless memories and stories, and several new friends and has left me wanting to travel and explore more.

Ultimate New Zealand was the best 3 weeks of my life! Brit & Chris were incredible. The add on activities were so much fun and reasonably priced. I’ve made friends for life and I can’t wait to book my next contiki!

Well organised, fantastic and knowledgeable tour leader and driver. A beautiful country to visit and even on days when the weather wasn’t so great we still had a fun and enjoyable time.

It was just really good trip. I would do it again 100%. Trip manager and bus driver were great and as a whole the group and activities were incredible.

Might be good for 18-25 yo who prefer to party evey day, if you are looking to explore the nature and beauty of NZ, I would recommend a camper and driving yourself.

Was an amazing 3 weeks! Met life long friends and had the adventure of a lifetime! From snorkeling to sky diving this trip has it all!
