It was a great itinerary unfortunately a lot of the inclusions we would not have enough time to fully appreciate them.
This is an excellent tour of Norway, which is a scenic country. Trafalgar tours are well organized and the hotels are good quality. The tour director was knowledgeable and overall I enjoyed the experience
The hotel's across scandanavia tend to be on the smaller side - if you are considering a twin room - recommend you know the person you are sharing with. Some of the optional experiences were not as described (more walking / exercise needed than indicated) - always ask your tour director for more details on strength required
This was a lovely tour. We were on the move and going throughout the day, and each day, and saw the most amazing sights and ate the most incredible foods! Highly recommend this tour, and especially if you get as your guide!!❤️ Her shoes, yall!!!! 😍
The tour director was outstanding. The scenery spectacular. The food great. I would have liked less people in the bus. More like 30. Also you need to be more upfront regarding the optional tours. It is a very expensive trip and then we gad to add an additional $2300 to be able to see the countries. The initial price kinda just cover room and transportation. This is the first time in the 20 years I’ve travel that I have experience something like this.
We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The trip on the fjords was breathtaking. They cover so many little unique spots of interest. Really enjoyed having the hotel accommodations in the center of the city. This allowed you to explore more easily on your own. All meals provided were great!
There were far too many optional excursions for outings that should have been included. This was a huge disappointment for me and I will probably not choose to travel with Trafalgar again.
Not a lot of free time on this trip, which is fine by me.
I think that some of the optional excertions should have been included in the original price, like the cruises in the fjoids, since that is one reason one goes to Norway. Also our tour guide didn't always explain some trips very well and sometimes seemed put out when asked questions.
Tour director very good.
It was a really good itinerary but only because of all the optional tours & you had to pay extra for all of them. The main attraction of the trip was the beautiful Norwegian fjords & you had to pay xtra for those 2 excursions. The cost of the trip includes mostly hotels, transportation & some meals. Most of the activities were an extra expense.
Perfect solution for first-time travellers to Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden) who have limited time to plan/book the trip like ourselves. The itinerary is quite comprehensive of the must-see items, especially if you include all the optional items (which you’ll choose and pay during the tour). We skipped some of the optional items to do our own thing, which is a great flexibilty provided by the tour! This allowed us to visit attractions that the tour only drove-by e.g. swam in the canal of Copenhagen and spent half a day in the Abba Museum
Tour Director and Driver performed very well. Itinerary was well thought out, however be aware of long days in the bus (2 days to reach Norway highlights and an additional day to reach Stockholm from Oslo). No alternative though unless traveling by air. What would make the tour perfect in my view: 1) Include additional day in Oslo, 2) Explore alternative accommodation to Leikanger hotel until this facility is renovated. 3) When alternatives exist, consider booking more centric hotels (Copenhagen, Lillehammer, Stockholm) 4). As many others have previously said, major attractions should be part of basic tour rather than an “optional” cost item Overall, enjoyed trip.
What a wonderful trip!! Our tour director was amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable and charismatic! Our driver was professional and courteous. The scenery was breathtaking! Our guide explained every excursion in detail. For those who didn’t do the excursions he provided multiple options of things to do and see. I would highly recommend this trip.
Did not deliver on the promise - hotels should have been better. That is what one expects when paying more compared to alternatives. Tour design could also be better - people who are not taking a certain optional tpur should not have to wander for 33-4 hours in a town with just one street worthy of walking ...etc.
Trafalgar's ability to provide a comprehensive job of revealing all the aspects of communities/ countries and get to the heart of the people.
Very good service; excellent guide, planning and itinerary. Everyone loves the luggage porterage in the morning. Just have to be prepared for early starts in order to beat the cruise ship rush in the mornings, it's worth it!
Great itinerary plenty of lovely scenery, happy with accomodation and excellent guide () and driver ()
A bucket list tour including wonderful destinations with jaw dropping scenery. Every day was a highlight. Well pace including a number of 2 night stops. Plenty of optional tours to fill in the free time if you wish.
The tour guide was excellent. He imparted so much knowledge to our tour with wit and humour. He kept the tour on schedule and insured plenty of time could be spent looking at the area and shopping. Our driver was also amazing. His skills behind the wheel were evident especially on the hairpin turns of several highways. The accommodations were satisfactory and the meals were excellent. It is quite miraculous when you consider all the planning that is required to plan a trip of this nature. I will highly recommend Trafalgar Tours.
Lots of beautiful places. Lots of history. Beautiful people. Tour director was great. Food was fantastic. Hotels were not as nice as on previous Trafalgar tours, but still ok.
Very comprehensive Well planned intinaries and optional tours Hotels close to central areas Fantastic tour director and very knowledgeable Brilliant coach drivers and coach was clean each day
Great itineary seeing lots that others wouldn't see, fantastic tour director Mike. Would like to say if you didn't pick up an option you missed out on an evening meal ,maybe this could be looked at.
Awesome trip with a variety of landscape and seascapes, different modes of transportation used and visually stunning scenery. Very well curated itinerary and great optionals available.
A review that optional excursions are worth the extra cost. We want to learn as we travel and the guides facilitated that nicely. is a great tour leader.
Trafalgar was an amazing tour of Scandinavia! Especially the Norwegian fjords, which would be difficult to navigate on your own.
The itinerary was good but some of the excursions should have been included as part of the trip - they were quite pricy.
Itinerary was mostly great-loved all the time in Norway but Oslo was mostly overlooked, I felt. A few of the optional tours felt repetitive, though they had fabulous scenery. For the price, I think a free of the side trips in Norway should have been included.
Beautiful places, very long distances between. Good locations for hotels and especially on the Geirangerfjord. Too much time in the bus especially the long whole day between Oslo and Stockholm. Kudos to Greg the driver for skill on the windy roads. Arne did a very good job, local guides were fine, l learned a lot. Too many optionals. Include some of them and adjust the tour price.
The scenery was stunning but in order to see a lot of it you had to pay extra. Our tour director was subpar. He couldn’t be bothered.
The whole trip was wonderful. Tour guide did a great job and we were kept up to date with everything that was happen.
Itinerary was fine …just disappointed in how many optional excursions there were after paying for the trip itself …felt like if you didn’t do a lot of them you were missing out on much of the experience !!
This was our second Tralgar Tour. First tour was Ireland so we have one other tour to compare. We feel that the Ireland tour was better for two reasons: 1. All hotels on the Ireland tour were 4 star; while the hotel where we stayed in Lilehammer was a high 2 star or low 3 star hotel. In some places dirty and worn out carpet. 2. In Stockholm after the city morning on the morning of our last full day, we knew that we had some free time which was good. However, we were dropped off in "Old Town" Stockholm for 4 1/2 hours. Weather was chilly but no rain. In comparing notes with the other people on our tour, none of knew that we were stranded several miles from our hotel with no way to return except an Uber. This one item was very poor commnuication. Other that the two items above, tour was excellent. Of the three countries the breathtaking scenery in Norway was our favorite.
The itinerary was great with every option working together. Hotels were good and the meals included were very good.
Too many high priced optional experiences, several which were underwhelming….especially the dinners which were advertised to include local specialties….and were just normal dinners.
The itinerary was a grind. Although we visited a lot of beautiful places, most of the time was spent traveling on the bus. The typical day required that luggage be out of the room by 7 am and for everyone to be on the bus by 8 am. There was a restroom on the bus for emergencies only, so every 1.5-2 hours we stopped at a gas station to use the restroom. Lunch breaks were typically between 10:30 am to 1:30 pm - and you had to choose between eating or exploring. Additionally, the itinerary was developed to maximize the number of people signing up for optional experiences. As an example, when in Lillehammer, people who did not sign up for the optional experience were taken to the hotel (30 minutes out of Lillehammer), rather than given time in the town to explore. The local specialists were a bright spot in the trip. I had expected that the tour guide would be giving us suggestions of things to see and do - but he seemed annoyed with questions and so I did my own research (while on the bus).
This was one of the worst trips we have been on. The experience was certainly not as good as others we have been on. Part of that was the tour director - he was not very good at his job. He did not give enough information. At times if you asked him a question he would respond that he did not know. For example I asked if there was going to be a comfort stop and he replied he did not know. He also did not give enough information about how the day was to go. At times we did not know that we had to find our way back to the hotel. This information would have been helpful especially since at times it was raining and no one was dressed for the weather or had umbrellas with them. People who did not sign up for one specific optional tour were left to amuse themselves for a couple of hours before being taken back to hotel. They did not know about this until they were told they had to get off the bus. We were not told about having to pay for restrooms. We were not told whether a drink was included with our meal or not (as an FYI a drink was hardly included). Covid was going around the bus but we were not told about this until people posted after the trip. Our tour director saw a doctor at one point and was told he was okay to continue with the tour. Looking back we now realize he knew about Covid but did not relay this information to the group. Our tour director was German and loved his country very much. I think we heard way too much about his homeland. A couple of times I made suggestions to our tour director to improve things. He was not receptive to these suggestions. The Trafalgar tours are now more expensive as we have to pay for more meals that are not included. You get less for your money when you pay for the optional tour in the evening. There was not that much food on the plate. On several occasions my husband was still hungry and he is not a big man. The food itself was nothing spectacular and there was not much variety. We did have a couple of good meals but when you have a McDonald's burger and it tastes so good, something is wrong. Some of the hotels had tubs with a shower which made it difficult to get in and out of. Some people did not shower because they were afraid they were going to fall. The hotels themselves were clean, in good locations. The beds tended to be on the softer side and the pillows needed help. If you use a face cloth you will have to take your own with you as they are not supplied. My husband and I have talked and have decided we are going to take a break from Trafalgar. After this last trip, we do not feel it was worth all the expense for what we got. The sights we saw were amazing, especially in Norway. If you are not aware, things are very expensive in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Sweden is a bit cheaper. These three countries are trying to go cashless so everything can be paid for by credit card - even going to the bathroom. The coach driver we had, was amazing. He looked after us so well and was a very good driver. Sometimes he knew more than our tour director. He worked with the staff at the hotels to get our luggage to us quickly. He was always on time for picking us up. All in all, we were glad to have done the trip but would caution people to check things out before booking. Maybe you will have a better tour director - that makes all the difference. Good luck.
It is a great way to see Scandinavia and a well planned trip. Unfortunately there were too many optional excursions that could have been included. Trafalgar has great travel directors who are knowledgeable and very helpful.
Well explained and a lot of details needed to be remembered so the printout was import and to be photographed. Very stunning inclusion's That are memory makers
Fabulous scenic itinerary! Breathtaking sights and wonderful, informative guidance by our incredible tour guide. Our coach driver (spelling?) was simply incredible. Very active tour but quite manageable.
I loved the trip. Had a wonderful time. Both tour director and driver were top notch. The only thing I would change is the excursions in stockholm, did palace gardens and subway art. Would rather pay more to see this wonderful city by boat.
Very scenic fjords and waterfalls. Some very scenic cities/towns. A few very long bus rides - not unexpected. Some hotels and included dinners could have been better.
The team of TD David and driver Thomas was fantastic they made a good trip great
Our tour director did a great job. The fjords of Norway are beautiful as is the rest of the scenery.
Good mix of touring and free time
Great itinerary. Wish a few more things were included in the price though instead of having to pay for the experiences as extras
Great variety of encounters/activities to give you a good taste of the region. The Fjords are naturally gorgeous and keeping plenty of that in the itinerary is essential.
I loved the rugged scenery of Norway. And navigating the fjords seeing the waterfalls was awe inspiring. The itinerary was great. We travelled on coaches, trains, ferries, through tunnels and over bridges. It was just amazing. Our tour director, *personal info removed by Feefo*, was well informed and he kept us engaged throughout. Our driver, *personal info removed by Feefo* was also superb. I would highly recommend this tour to others.
I’m glad to have picked this itinerary as covered a lot in two weeks. However it was hectic with staying at most places for just one night. Do not expect any Air conditioning in Scandinavia but do ask for fans as rooms tend to get stuffy. Bus was comfortable and our driver and tour director were very capable and knowledgeable about the area which was very helpful.
Great general overview of all 3 countries. Its planning included little to no wait time to see events like the changing of guards, catching ferries, etc…. We were given priority access to all museums, castles, etc…. The tour director was knowledgeable about the areas and patiently answered all guests questions. He also repeatedly provided clear direction which kept the group together and on time during free wandering time.
Excellent itinerary - the main reason why I went with Trafalgar and not Gate 1 or Collette or other tour companies. However, I thought there were too many optional tours; some should already be included in the tour price. I thought when there were 2 optional tours in a day I thought they were happening at the same time so I tended to choose 1 per day (also considering the expenses); a clarification as to the scheduling of the optional tours would have been nice.
Our guide was very knowledgeable & was always adding local sights & flavours to our daily experiences. He & ou bus driver worked very well together & made for enjoyable drives- whether on highways, country road or up, down or around the mountains!
The itinerary could have less one night stays, but overall it was great
Absolutely wonderful. Really nice vegetarian meals for us!!
Really enjoyed the full experience excellent tour director
Veronica, our tour director, and *personal info removed by Feefo* our bus driver made the trip. The itinerary was great and *personal info removed by Feefo* gave us concise and useful information about what we were going to see/do, important background history/geography/cultural info., etc. Would have been nice to have one more day to divide up some of the heavier itinerary days or to have an extra day in Stockholm. Can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this tour. Would highly recommend it to folks interested in seeing parts of Scandinavia.
This trip allowed us to experience the cultures of 3 different countries, and see the natural beauty of the land. We got to meet several people from farmers to tour guides who knew interesting details about the destination--things that we would not have known without those experiences. I took my 3 sons, ages 16 to 23, who had never traveled internationally before. The tour was flexible enough that they got to do many fun excursions that they wanted to do. We had a great time making memories.
Scenery was amazing Our first coach had very limited leg room. Appears bus company tried to add seats, as the USB plug-ins were blocked by each seat and you could not access them. We got a different bus for the second week. That bus was very comfortable. Both bus drivers were very professional. Hotel in Copenhagen had AC, but all the other hotels did not. Rooms were very warm. Windows only opened a few inches. Fan did help some. Too many Optional Experiences: some of those should have been included in the regular daily itinerary. Travelers that did not sign up for those options were on their own a lot. Tour director was very knowledgeable and extremely organized. Great communication with the entire group (large group of 48). Good experience overall
Felt a couple of options should be included as tour going to them anyway.
Tour director and bus driver were excellent. Hotels weren't as depicted/stated(4&5star) therefore not very honest. Although the heat-wave was supposedly unprecedented,no fans were provided(2&3star). An early morning start breakfast pack(instead of proper breakfast) was pathetic. Some of the additional options that were taken weren't adequately detailed.
Wonderful itinerary of Denmark, Norway and Sweden. We traveled by bus, ferry and rail to travel thru wonderful countryside, small villages and towns. One of the highlights was Be my Guest were we visited a farm and had a delicious meal prepared by the owners. The Fjords were amazing, visited a Glacier and ate lots of local foods. Trip was top notched.
Excellent best vacation ever. Fabulous tour director, bus driver. Well organized. I highly recommend this tour and TrafalgR
We had an exceptional experience exploring Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. My only suggestion is to better balance the number of days for each location. For example, we had 13 days - we spent 3 in Denmark, 8 in Norway, and 2 in Sweden. I felt that we needed at least three days in Stockholm (maybe 4). 2 days was not enough to really enjoy and explore this beautiful and vibrant city.
Well constructed itinerary. Good amount of optionals.
The fjords, the waterfalls and the mountains are awesome. Those are definitely the highlights. Our travel director was exceptional with his upbeat personality, his vast knowledge, his sense of humor, and his ingenious speaking ability made every day interesting and entertaining. He also was spot on with his scheduling.
Norway was very beautiful.
AND were terrific !
A wonderful Tour guide makes the trip wonderful was great.
