Hope and Stu were wonderful guides. Do both islands of you have the time.
New Zealand is a beautiful country. It is very green, scenic, lots of lakes and rivers and mountains covered with snow and lot of green trees. Pancake rocks in South Island in Punakaiki was one of a kind experience. Never seen anything like that. Ship ride from North Island to South Island was beautiful. Overall New Zealand is worth seeing country. We really enjoyed. Our tour manager Hope and coach driver Stu were fantastic and very knowledgeable.
Wonderful time
Breathtaking locations, activities to suit all ages, capabilities and likes. Just enough free time to do your own thing and loved the various form of travel - bus, ferry and train. Awesome trip!
We were able to see and enjoy a large range of events, sites and experiences, that made this trip one of our most memorable. There were a number of optional experiences which enabled us to access opportunities to engage in our interests.
I am a loyal Trafalgar traveler. I have been on, I believe, 7 trips. I would always choose Trafalgar. Well, imagine my surprise when I found out that this was NOT a Trafalgar trip but an AAT Kings trip. The TOUR GUIDE AND DRIVER WERE EXCELLENT, THE SCENERY AWESOME, but I wonder how much I would have saved by booking directly with AAT Kings. I don't recall what repeat customer pricing I have previously received but a 5% customer price reduction on this trip is minimal for how much money I have previously spent on 7 trips with Trafalgar. Additionally, I did not receive ANY Trafalgar pre-trip documents (luggage tags, travel bag, document holder) as in past years nor the traditional repeat customer gift. The gift was a simple thank you and a nice reminder of my repeat business. You can claim you are saving the environment, but I see it as saving your expenses. Bottom line, I feel like Trafalgar could care less that I was taking another trip with them. What this means is that I no longer will consider Trafalgar as my first choice. Now I will look at ALL providers and consider them BEFORE Trafalgar. I understand Trafalgar was sold and is no longer a family-owned business. Unfortunately, the new owner is putting profit before their customers. Interestingly, I received a survey during my NZ trip asking about a rail-based vacation offering that Trafalgar is considering. Well, Trafalgar better focus on their current offering before trying to "add" another service. I certainly don't need Trafalgar managing other tour companies' offerings for a fee when I can do that myself and save the Trafalgar management fee. Finally, I will certainly inform family and friends to look at ALL tour providers since it's clear that Trafalgar has lost its way.
