New Zealand: Sweet As South

Had the most amazing time on the Sweet as South trip. Saw so many naturally beautiful scenes and visited some great cities too. Our trip manager was super knowledgeable about the places we visited and incorporated Māori stories into the information she gave us. I wish we could’ve spent more time or a night at Lake Tekapo to really experience the stargazing there. Overall I had a great time for my first overseas travel experience and first Contiki and will definitely be booking another one soon!

I did the Contiki Sweet As South tour and it was honestly the trip of a lifetime! My absolute highlights were bungy jumping (such an adrenaline rush!), skiing in the most beautiful mountains, and hiking on a glacier (truly a surreal experience) The group was amazing, we partied every night, and I made so many new friends. (Mostly Australians since the tour seemed to be 90% Aussies). Definitely recommend!

Absolutely awesome trip. I was initially reluctant to book a Contiki, wanting to travel by myself. I don't regret it for a second! Trip manager Ashley and bus driver Stretch were fantastic, and the rest of the group added significantly to my experience. Thanks Contiki!

Incredible- beautiful place and people I just want to press replay

Great fun and well organised. 3-4 days of skiing with some extra add on activities. Would definitely recommend for socialising while also being able to skiing to your ability

I absolutely loved this trip! It had a good mix of adventure and adrenaline and relaxing down time. The trip manager was knowledgeable and fun. I would highly recommend this trip.

As I found the sweet as south contiki trip was absolutely amazing, it made me think about doing another one soon. The people and places we went to was absolutely amazing, I really enjoyed Queenstown but also Franz josef

1000% would recommend to anyone to do this tour. Great mix of activities and down time to do what you wish. The South Island produces some of the most amazing scenery too so it makes the coach rides something you also look forward to.

accommodation could be better

The trip was great overall. Although I thought the accommodation was to a poor standard, particularly in cleanliness. Also, the horse riding FTA was expensive for what was included (duration, training of the horses).

I thoroughly enjoyed it. As my first Contiki tour, it far exceeded my expectations. I had the pleasure of experiencing a helicopter ride not once, but twice in the same week, and although I had visited Queenstown before, this trip offered a completely new and wonderful perspective. My three most memorable moments were the helicopter flight to Franz Josef Glacier (the 30-minute flight is well worth it), a delightful evening at the small bar by Lake Ohau where I achieved a bullseye on my second ever dart throw, and the unforgettable Milford Sound cruise. My Trip Manager and Coach Captain were exceptional and contributed greatly to making it a truly wonderful experience, as did the opportunity to meet such a diverse and interesting group of people from all over the world. I will certainly not forget this trip and am already considering my next adventure.

and exceeded every expectation. It’s my second Contiki and I was so Impressed with the professionalism and hard work that ash put into everything. You could see the work she put into everything and the care was unmatched. Although unfortunate that a few things were cancelled and handled it with Grace and tried to make up for it in every way. I think we had a good amount of time in each place and enjoyed each moment. Really really want to reiterate how good was. From the music on the bus, to how responsive she was on messages before during and after the trip and how every day was planned to the T and she made sure we all had a trip personalised to ourselves.

The trip manager was so funny and helpful himself made the trip all that more enjoyable. Despite being a short trip it didn’t feel rushed in anyway and I loved the extras especially the real country as it’s something I would t of known or done if I had travelled without contiki

The best thing about this trip was all the scenery and nature and how we were told about the Māori myths and legend behind different places. We also had such a great group and everyone got along! The optional activities were also awesome and pretty much everything was prepared for us so we didn’t need to bring anything (eg wetsuits, sprayjackets etc)
