Highlights
Climbing Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa!
Itinerary
The Tanzanian dormant volcano, Mount Kilimanjaro, encapsulates a vast range of ecosystems, so that anybody trekking up it will witness alpine woodland, tropical rainforest, moorlands, savannas, and icy snow fields and the glacial region at the summit. Not many trips could give you all of that in just 9 days! Snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, is the highest African mountain, and is surrounded by game-filled plains, making it one of the most beautiful places to be. Uhuru peak stands at 5895m (19,340ft), and its name is the Swahili word for freedom. There are seven routes up Mount Kilimanjaro, which range in difficulty. Roughly half of climbers choose the Machame route because it offers stunning views. This is a harder climb than the Marangu route, with steeper inclines that go on for longer. Climbers also sleep in tents, rather than the huts that are found on the Marangu route. We extend the normal trek on this route by one day to give you extra time to acclimatise at Karanga Camp. This makes the whole experience more enjoyable and gives you a better chance of making the summit
