Fast-paced fun with tons of socialising, bucket-list sights and good times all round.Home of Lord of the Rings, E-X-T-R-E-M-E sports and haka – there’s no doubt this little country has a BIG reputation for being jam-packed with pure awesomeness. Don’t waste time choosing between North and South, adventure or chill, culture or landscapes – bungy out of boring and dive headfirst into the best 17 days of your life. We’re waiting.
1) Runty was not communicated about the fact that none of us could select our optional activities so he had to madly scramble while touring us around NZ to organise them. It was a bit tense because we were unsure if we were going to get the activities that we wanted. 2) The sky diving and heli-hike were cancelled but that is out of your control. 3) We could have done the activities in 14 days if the itinerary allowed us to go from the north to the south in one flowing journey instead of zig zagging up and down from Abel Tasman to Kaikoura etc. We could have ended the journey in Queenstown instead of having to go back all the way to Christchurch again. That would have been preferred.
Our tour guide runty was heaps of fun. Joining in some activities with us was fun as well. Longer bus trip days dragged out a little bit but we all managed to make it fun, card games, music etc. In this tour, having to cross the South Island multiple times. Took up valuable time of the trip we could have spent touring around the country. I would definitely recommend this chosen tour for anyone. Good length of time in NZ. As well as a variety of activities cultural, Adrenaline, relaxing and entertaining. My favourite location was Queenstown. With an amazing group of people, tours like this can be heaps of fun.
Get social New Zealand was absolutely incredible. Our tour guide, Runty, made the experience amazing, despite some long driving days in the south island. I would recommend this trip to everyone and anyone, particularly if you want a mix of some adrenalin and adventure, scenic views and landscapes and social connections with others in your group.
The travel days that went longer then 4 hours were not enjoyable and took a lot out of enjoying the trip. And the doubling back to Christchurch was pointless and would of preferred going down the west coast of the South Island from Abel tasman and down to Queenstown then going back to Christchurch but getting there the day before the trip finishes to allow people to go up to Kaikoura for the whale watching if that choose to. To improve the trip asking the local tour guides who know the area would improve the trip.
Our trip leader George made the trip very enjoyable. He was knowledgeable about every where we went and gave us great suggestions on activities and restaurants. Most of the hostels were very good, some were small with limited bathroom facilities for the amount of rooms. Overall a great trip, would recommend.
This was my first ever solo trip! I was very nervous to leave my hometown all on my own but it ended up being one of the best decisions I’ve ever made as I made so many new friends from all over the world and experienced things I’d never thought I’d get to see with my own eyes. Our trip leader George was super informative and highly knowledgeable. I highly recommend this trip, as well as Topdeck, to anyone who is considering a holiday! You won’t regret it
Such an amazing experience! My group was fantastic and it was such a great way to meet so many like minded people. My guide (George) was incredible at ensuring the trip ran smoothly and that we were all having a great time!
My top deck experience was full of jam packed action and adventure, but still allowed down time and chill out sessions, which were needed from time to time. I found that the organisation of both the company’s itinerary and of our tour guide Connor was as close to perfect as it could have gotten. I never once felt uncomfortable or worried about anything while I was touring New Zealand and can safely say that it was the best 17 days of my life so far. Thank you Top Deck!!
My trip was amazing! I enjoyed everything that we did and our guide Connor was great and super knowledgeable, either knowing the answers to our questions or finding them out for us. Everywhere that we travelled was fantastic. Just remember to rest a bit, even if it is on the bus, as you will be on the go a lot. The hostels were alright, some were better than others. I would have liked to stay longer in some places, but that just means I have stuff to do another time!
