The itinerary and optional experiences were very good. Our bus driver and guide(Amy) were absolutely fantastic.
Its a great trip which covers so much of the countries but there were too many optional extras which amounted to a lot of extra costs.
The trip was great! Landscaping was beautiful and especially the rainbows that you saw. The hotels and employees were very nice! Joel, our tour guide was awesome and so was our chauffeur, Tom . Joel was so informative about Ireland and Scotland. I just wish I could remember everything he talked about.! The history is interesting I think they went beyond and above for us on the trip. The weather was tricky ! But overall, it was a a nice trip! The downside was I wish I got to spend more time at all the towns that we stopped at. The quaint little towns were interesting. I understand that we were on a timeline. The other thing is, people should be considerate when they are sick and wear a mask on the bus.. By the end of the trip I was sick Thank you
The trip was outstanding; the scenery, the adventures, meeting locals, the history, the addition of local guides, and the crew. Our travel director, Damian, and our driver Jason made the trip all that more memorable.
Every place we visited was great. Loved visiting both countries.,
Great trip. Adam and Brooke were amazing. Would highly recommend this tour. Local guides were knowledgeable and personable. Ronan, especially, made his tour memorable with his knowledge and perspective on Ireland. Itinerary was well thought out and Brooke’s knowledge of the countries and histories added greatly to the experience.
I had an amazing trip. It was run like a well oil machine. Your bus driver was completely amazing. How he drive in some of those tight spots was simply amazing and I operate heavy equipment and have drive bus. Simply the best driver I have seen. was an amazing guide. He explained things and answered any questions or concerns we had. The itinerary was very tight and would have liked more time in certain places but understand the tight schedule as well.
The optional excursion to Stirling Castle did not include actually going into/seeing much of the castle. The tour director, Damien, was excellent. Although the group was fantastic, 48 was a large number to accommodate on the tour.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the sites, sounds and tastes of Ireland and Scotland while your driver and tour guide keep you safe and sound. See places you've heard about all your life, like Blarney Castle, the Giant's Causeway, and Loch Ness, although I was disappointed that Nessie wasn't available for a photo shot. And don't forget all the amazing people you'll meet along the way.
Our tour director was , he was magnificent. He was absolutely amazing in knowing the history of the areas we visited, dates and details of notable occurrences. Very pleasant and professional. Our bus driver was , never underestimate the importance of the bus driver. was an excellent driver, had a great personality, and kept our bus immaculately clean inside and out. Nothing worse than traveling in beautiful scenery with dirty windows kept our windows spotless, and never let trash accumulate in the bus. These two made our trip the most enjoyable we've ever had.
This was our 20th trip with Trafalgar and while we have enjoyed every one, this one was special. The scenery was magnificent, the people were lovely, our TD and our driver were exceptional. Every place we visited exceeded our expectations. Now on to number 21!
We had the absolute best tour guide () Hated to see the tour end our driver was amazing ,how he negotiated that bus on those roads was incredible The accommodations were fantastic and not having to haul our suitcases everywhere was epic We did most of the additional tours they were fun educational and informative I would definitely choose Trafalgar Tours again and will tell all my friends and relatives if they are thinking of travelling to definitely go Trafalgar Thank for a wonderful expierence
The tour guide Damian Watson was excellent an Driver Jason awesome. The food all the same fifteen days eating pretty much same food that should be changed up some.
We had a great tour director and bus driver! Both were full of knowledge and tips and so organized! Really appreciated that quality. Nice touch with “local” treats!! The locals are so welcoming and friendly. Loved the “Be my Guest” experiences. Enjoyed the titanic venture, Belfast , isle of skye, the giant causeway and option to walk the trails, being so close to nature! Accommodations and meals were good! Would definitely travel Trafalger again.
Very well thought out itinerary and a great mix of beautiful landscape, history and culture.
I really can't say much more than it was fantastic from beginning to end
Fabulous. You covered towns & cities we never knew
You will pack a lot of sightseeing i to this 15 day trip and experience the history and charm of three countries. Expert tour director and coach drivers make this a worry free trip.
Great trip to see lots of sites off the beaten path. Missed some of the bigger attractions but it was nice to see sites in smaller towns.
It was a very busy itinerary. We could have had a few more two-day stays. I now know what an "explorers'" trip means - go, go, go. Overall, it was a great trip with a great guide.
Thank you for an enjoyable, informative, memorable and all round wonderful trip...the Best of Ireland and Scotland. , our guide, thank you for all your caring contributions that made our journey such a success!
The itinerary was spot on for a perfect blend of history and culture. We were able to get a real feel for each country in our one week stay in each one. For the price, our hotels were fine, though I would have preferred city-center hotels for all the major city stops to make free time easier to plan. I do understand that this would probably increase the price of the trip. Our coach driver went over and beyond and his driving skill was very reassuring on winding, narrow roads in both Ireland and Scotland. Finally, our tour director, was the icing on the cake! There are not enough words to express how knowledgeable, efficient, and FUN he was. A tour director can truly make or break a trip, and made this one one for the books.
This itinerary is busy, but not strenuous. The tour guide, went above and beyond every day to make us comfortable, and I was amazed at the level of knowledge about each area that we went to that was shared. We were well informed at every level of our daily itineraries and even some surprises! We also had many optional experiences to choose from as well as free time for shopping, lunches and some dinners on our own, etc. There is no way on my own I could have planned such a wonderful trip & seen so much! The coach was very comfortable and other tourists very friendly.
These are beautiful countries to explore. The people are very welcoming and you can enjoy a nice conversation with the locals in many of the pubs and restaurants. This is a lot of history. the visits to area like Blarney Castle, tours of Waterford Crystal and the Distillery were interesting and informative.
It was a great overview for anyone who has never visited Ireland and Scotland before. The itinerary will keep you busy from early morning until evening but you will enjoy every minute. Our travel director, was a fountain of knowledge and took care of every detail of our journey with meticulous attention. We would recommend this trip to anyone traveling to this part of the UK for the first time.
Great trip. Never a dull moment and one of the best times of my life.
You always pick the right sights and have the local experts to tell the history about each location. The optional experience’s are excellent. This was our fourth Trafalgar tour and every tour Director has knocked it out of the park. I tell people that you are the only company we travel through because you are the best!!!
Provided a broad overview of Ireland and Scotland. The accommodations were comfortable and the food was excellent.
Even though I travel often, this was the first tour group trip I have taken. Our Trip exceeded all expectations! The guide was TOP notch! We saw and learned and the experience of joy from day to day continued to get better and better. The optional excursions were a must do. Not sure why not part of trip, but it did allow some flexibility for those that wanted down time. Perfect trip to truly see Ireland and Scotland towns, cities and countryside. We arrived a day early to see Cliffs of Moher. Spectacular vacation trip! Will be booking again with Trafalgar. Takes all the work out of planning and no worries about getting around.
A 5 star adventure with an awesome travel director (Michael) that went above & beyond! A great group of fellow travellers too! So many venues to see, enjoy & some serious miles covered! Awesome accomodations & stunning scenery along the way! Great food too, including some very theatrical introductions to haggis! Got to get back to explore the gardens around Blarney castle some more! The Irish Sea ferry crossing, Loch Lomond & the ferry to the Isle of Skye were icing on the cake!
Good
Great.
The itinerary was fast paced and we had a wonderful time. I was apprehensive about a group of 48 people but everyone was respectful and we had a great leader in and a very skilled driver in .
It was too hurried from one point to another. Alot of time was spent finding a spot to eat, then our time was over to browse town, etc. Supply a bus lunch so we have more time in towns.
Very busy, but still free time available. Great variety of things to see. Local guides and tour guide really knew their history. Bus driver was wonderful and very skilful.
Was a really fast paced introduction to Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland and it was amazing. If you are looking for something a little slower, an InSight tour may be more your style. It would also be nice if you'd let everyone know that the hotels did not have air conditioning as this caught us off guard. While a fan and an opened window did the job, it wasn't what we expected.
The explorer itinerary was definitely fast-paced each day however now that I’ve been home for a bit and looked back at my photos; it’s amazing how much of each country we got to experience. We had a wonderful tour guide and she took care of every detail along the way. I would highly recommend this trip and Trafalgar. I have traveled by other means but I really feel like I got to experience so much more with this trip! BONUS: I also made new friends within our group. Thanks again Trafalgar for a wonderful experience! I see you again in the future
This was my first time travelling to Europe/going on an organized coach tour. It was a wonderful/fast-paced itinerary and checked all of the boxes for me. I will never forget the Ring of Kerry or the Isle of Sky and all the places in between. Our tour guide, was exceptional. Her love of Ireland/Scotland was evident, knowledge of the history and local places to visit each step of the way was top notch and I felt that she genuinely cared for each and every one of us. Our driver, could not have been better (I have no idea how he manoeuvred a full size luxury coach on the narrow roads and spaces in Ireland and Scotland!). A lovely person as well. The local experts, whether walking tours or on-coach tours, brought an extra layer of knowledge and humour (and in some case tears over past history) to each place. I also very much appreciated that they gave us "local experiences" (i.e. (to name just a few) farmhouse tour, "homestyle" dinner and entertainment in Torphichen (will never forget this night!) and visiting a local/working shepherd and his beautiful border collies) in their optional excursions which added to my love for the people in each country. Takeaways: (1) I would take this trip again in a heartbeat. It gave me a good taste of each country and I definitely would like to go back and spend more time in some of the places we stopped, (2) there were 48 absolutely wonderful people on our tour (would definitely travel with anyone of them again!) but it was a little bigger group than I would choose for a future trip (when we had a scheduled stop with a certain amount of time to spend, if you were near the back of the coach that day it took up to 10 minutes sometimes to get off the coach) and it was quite a large group for the walking tours and (3) (my only personal picky item), it listed Lochness on the itinerary. I have wanted to go touch the water that Nessy lives in since I was in grade 4 (a very long time ago). We did drive around Lochness but did not stop at the "Loch" itself. We stopped at a break spot at the far end and there was no way of walking to the lake and not enough time to take the Lochness boat tour that went up the channel to the lake. A small detail, but it was one of the things I was really looking forward to.
The itinerary was very good. Of course everyone has their own personal preferences. I really like historical stops and would have loved more time in Glendalough, and some of the smaller historical towns. The Scottish highlands was beautiful, but the time was on the short side. It was very close to a perfect trip and our tour director was extraordinary. Her customer service and knowledge of historical events was amazing!
It is a lot of travel packed into a few days with much to see and do. Most of the included stops were, must see, venues but some were off the beaten path so a good mix of sights. Also, if you are into the history of the areas being travelled you will gain a wealth of knowledge from your guide and local guides.
The tour was well curated and our tour director, is well experienced and able to guide us properly without a hitch throughout the journey.
