Itinerary
Short on time but longing for Himalayan magic? The "3-Day Bhutan Tour" is a concise yet captivating package designed for experienced travelers and seniors seeking to experience Bhutan’s highlights. Arriving from Nepal, enjoy a scenic flight over the Himalayas to Paro, where the adventure begins.
Marvel at the cliff-perched Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) and explore the cultural treasures of Paro and Thimphu. Delight in the country’s serene Buddhist architecture, vibrant festivals, and the warm hospitality of its people—all set amid breathtaking mountain scenery.
With accommodations, transfers, and guided sightseeing included, this tour is the perfect introduction to Bhutan for those with limited time. The stand-out feature? The rare opportunity to glimpse the Land of the Thunder Dragon’s most legendary sites in just a few days.
day 1 - Fly to Paro, explore Thimpu
Transfer to the airport in Nepal and fly 1-hour to Paro. A spectacular descent through mountainous valleys brings you into the Kingdom of Bhutan. In Paro, you will be received by your Bhutanese guide and after clearing customs and visa control you are transferred to your hotel.
A short picturesque drive about 2 hours along the valley brings you to the capital of Bhutan, Thimpu. After lunch at a local restaurant, start your sightseeing with a visit to the Textile Museum, a traditional paper making factory and the post office to see Bhutan’s beautiful stamps which also depict the country’s myths, traditions and culture. Alternatively, you can choose less formal sightseeing and simply walk around the town with your guide.
Stay overnight at the hotel.
day 2 - Thimpu, Taktsang, Paro
In the morning, we'll drive to Satsam Chorten and then hike to the famous Takstang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, which is built around a cave where Guru Rimpoche (also known as Guru Padmasambhava) meditated. The legend has it that Guru Rimpoche is said to have flown to the site of the monastery on the back of a tigress from Tibet and meditated in the cave for three months. The view of the monastery is worth the steep 1.5 hour walk up a wide mountain path.
After lunch, we visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan.
Overnight at hotel.
day 3 - Paro, departure
After breakfast, our Bhutanese agent will escort and bid you farewell at Paro Airport.
