Cycle from Salzburg in the picturesque Austrian Lakes District to Vienna via the Danube River valley. A unique cycle journey to experience the very best of Austria's sublime scenery, from the deep blue lakes of Salzkammergut, known as Austria's Lakes District, to the majestic Danube River, renowned for its vineyards, castles and historic towns. From Mozart's home town, Salzburg, the cycle route heads east to the banks of several lakes including Mondsee and Attersee. There is ample time to explore the valleys and small towns in the vicinity before continuing to the Danube and the town of Linz. Following the Danube bends past monasteries, and the UNESCO listed Wachau Valley, famous for its wines and classic scenery, the cycling ends in the magnificent city of Vienna.
Fabulous and easy even for non cyclists (hire an e-bike though). Trip notes of 30 pages long were not all that helpful and needs to include a simple list of toilets stops, cafes and key sights. It’s easy to use the phone app and also work out which side of the river you should be on.

Everything worked out perfectly. Hotels were generally good and well located with good breakfasts. Transfer of bags was flawless. The route on our phone was clear and simple to follow.
Our bicycling trip (Passau to Vienna) was a wonderful family adventure for myself, my husband, and our adult son and daughter (ages 28 and 26). Everything was extremely well-organized by the tour operator, and the staff there quickly responded to any questions or issues that arose, both before our travels and during. We had some difficulty locating the place where we were to pick up the bikes despite following the instructions provided, and few people in the area seemed to know of them. We eventually found it, but as it was raining hard, we were all somewhat sleep-deprived, and the distance from our hotel was longer than we had expected with only major roads on which to travel, we asked the bike rental company for a ride back to our hotel, which they did for 60 Euros. That process felt more stressful than necessary, but once we started out the next morning from Passau, everything was perfect. We loved biking along the Danube - the paths are well marked, the scenery is stunning, and the information provided by the operator was extremely useful. We would definitely book again with this operator and look forward to our next adventure!

They did a wonderful job of organizing and supporting our bicycle adventure from Vienna to Budapest. The hotels were wonderful and the breakfast's amazing. Having not only GPS directions, but accompanying written directions and maps made our tour a breeze. Communication before and during the trip was excellent.

Connect two of Europe’s most stately capital cities as we trace the course of the Danube River through Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary. From untamed wetlands to manicured vineyards and from vast, farm-covered plains to narrow, history-steeped city streets, this immersive bike tour offers a fresh perspective on life along the Danube. We discover some of the region’s most iconic heritage sites, wine & dine at local eateries, and spend our nights at cozy hotels.
Meeting in Vienna, the adventure begins with a ride south through the Danube Floodplain National Park to reach the small, bustling Slovakian capital of Bratislava. Here we spend two nights in a unique “botel” right on the river, explore the city by bike, and indulge in a wine tasting. We then journey across the Transdanubian plains and rolling hills of western Hungary, immersing ourselves in the rustic countryside. We also explore charming Hungarian cities such as Győr, known for its enchanting baroque town square, and Esztergom, home to the country's grandest Catholic basilica. On our final cycling day we ride the Danube’s "Great Bend” to reach Budapest where we end our tour amongst the city’s glittering landmarks.

Connect two of Central Europe’s most treasured cities via a fabulous backcountry route through the historic Czech regions of Bohemia and Moravia. From towering castles and lively old town squares to winding rivers, tranquil meadows and rustic vineyards, this bike tour leaves no stone unturned as we cycle through the lesser known countryside of the southern Czech Republic. We visit four UNESCO World Heritage Sites, wine & dine at local eateries, and spend our nights at cozy hotels.
Meeting in Prague, the adventure begins with a transfer south where we spend two days riding through the Bohemian hinterlands. Along the way we experience areas steeped in history such as the baroque village of Holašovice, the medieval town of Český Krumlov, and the age-old network of fish ponds in Třeboň. Transitioning to Moravia, we'll then enjoy three days of cycling through rolling hills, forests, and vineyards near the Austrian border. We'll discover further architectural pearls such as the photogenic renaissance facade at Telč and the magical Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape.
