Going out on a game drive in the morning, I heard the roar of the lions in the savannah as the sun rose, saw the hunting of cheetahs in the afternoon, and sat by the campfire at night and talked under the sky full of them. "Planning this Kilimanjaro trip was hardest task of my life, from the choice of operator, to the preparation of all group equipments. As a student, the hesitation and uncertainty of traveling to Africa took me sometime. The Marangu route is one of the most popular routes to the summit of Kilimanjaro. This could partly be as a result of the fact that the Marangu is the least expensive route but more so perhaps the fact that it is possible to do the Marangu route in 5 days thereby getting to the summit one day earlier compared to the Machame route. This is not always the best way due to a shorter acclimatization period. That is one thing to take into account before decided to do the Marangu route. Nobody, even how fit they are, know how their body will respond in high altitude. If you want to increase your chances for making a successful summit, we recommend the Machame route. The shared hut accommodation on the Marangu route is one of the main differences compared to the other routes, where you have to camp. Overall, great experience. Brian has been extremely helpful in tailoring the itinerary for the safari and has assisted us all along the process. Our guide, Henry, was always on time and truly did his best to show us all the possible animals within the visited parks. We've had nice lunches (with juice and wine) during the 7 days of Safari and the car was always sparkling clean in the morning when our guide was picking us up :) Our safari was followed by a beach holiday in Zanzibar : Brian has arranged a pick-up at the airport for us. Join us on the spectacular tour to the most popular dolphin spotting location in Zanzibar –Kizimkazi village, located on the Southern coast of Zanzibar Island, where you can see both bottle-nose and humpback dolphins. The shallow coastal waters around Kizimkazi are a favorite hangout for dolphins as they come here for the reliable food supply, to nurse their calves, rest and socialize. There are also rather shyer humpback dolphins that sometimes put in an appearance here, although their schedule is a little more erratic. The dolphin tour is best very early in the morning because in the afternoon as the sun rises, the sea water tends to become warm and the dolphins dive deep down to escape the heat. For guests who are staying in a Stone town hotel, we’ll pick you up from your hotel at 6:30am. It is also possible to do the trip later in the afternoon, but the probability of seeing dolphins is smaller. The dolphin trip lasts two to three hours. Although dolphin-spotting is a popular activity, sightings aren’t guaranteed 100% and sometimes spottings require time and patience as the animals are in their natural environment. Kizimkazi is also the site of a 12th-century mosque, the earliest evidence of Islam in East Africa, and is thus worth a visit for both cultural and historical reasons. The dolphin trip can be combined with Jozani Forest, as the forest is on the way to Kizimkazi; we pass through the forest on the way back from dolphin tour.
