We started in Delh with Mr Manooj as a guide and Mr Deepak as a driver. Both spoke English well and our guide was knowledgable and flexible with our tour. On-time pick up at out hotel. Keeping us safe and allowing us to see the sights was well done by Mr Manooj. We enjoyed our day tour. The next day we traveled to Agra with Mr Deepak and met our second guide Mr Chandel who's English was equally as good and his knowledge of the Taj Mahal enhanced our experience. Again our guide was flexible in our tour agenda. I would have liked a breakdown of what the day tour would entail but I could have asked too. Would recommend this company and BOTH guides.
Join us on this eight-hour tour of Udaipur and discover the rich history and architectural glory of this city of Rajputs. Your English-speaking driver will pick you up from your hotel or location in Udaipur and drive you to Udaipur City Palace, the largest palace complex in Rajasthan. Maharana Udai Singh started building this palace in 1559 AD. However it was completed only in the 18th century by his successors.
The palace is situated on the banks of Lake Pichola, a beautiful, artificial, manmade lake that was dug in 1362 AD and named after the nearby Picholi Village. Even now, part of the property is still owned by the present king of Udaipur while the rest has been converted into hotels and museums.
The museums inside this palace also display the wardrobe and weapons used by past rulers and gives you the chance to learn more about the regal lifestyle of the rulers of Udaipur. We will then head for the famous Shree Jagdish Temple, a three-story, 79-feet-high temple built by Maharana Jagat Singhji in 1651 AD. This temple is still owned and managed by the royal family of Udaipur. Every year, thousands of devotees come to worship in this temple.
Travel to Dudh Talai, located on the banks of Lake Pichola, near the City Palace next. Enjoy beautiful views of Lake Pichola, Jagmandir Island Palace and Udaivilas as well as the gorgeous Aravalli range and Udiapur's old city. Walk around the lake and see various species of birds. You might also want to relax in the lush green garden near the lake before it's time to drive back to your hotel.
Please note that entrance fees to monuments is not included in the tour price.
I went to Agra from Delhi solo for a sunrise tour of the Taj Mahal- even though my hostel was way out of the way, these guys were kind enough to pick me up so I didnt have to solo-metro at 2 am. The drive was comfy, the schedule was totally up to me (awesome!) and my driver was very sweet.
