The big unusual challenge was the weather - it was cold and snowy and as a result the trails were not as easy as usual and we had to reroute a few times. That being said I think we go to Nepal for the experience and the amazing views. That all happened. Our guides and porters were always super helpful. I am gluten intolerant and they accommodated me the whole time. I can’t say how much I appreciated that - not easy for them to do that. We all completed the trip but my sense is that if someone wasn’t able to the guides would have taken care of us somehow. Bottom line - I was very happy to be with World Expeditions. While I don’t think I will return to Nepal I would be very happy to do another trip with WE anytime.

A big thank to our guide Samda and the team (especially Ram who fed us well) and provided us with an excellent cultural and trekking experience. Samda's knowledge of Tibetan culture and the history of the monasteries provided a complete background to the history and culture of Mustang and its relationship to Tibet. Being present for the three crowded days festival was special and a complete juxtaposition to the following days trek through the stark and beautiful landscape of Mustang. We were treated to vistas of the distant snow capped mountains, alpine flowers up high, sheep and goat herders and even managed to find fossils left behind in the ancient raised seabeds pushed up with the Himalaya range.
