The Chilean Sky is famous for is crystal clear vision of the infinity of our universe. Let yourself be taken out of this world getting a glance of the immense skies above us, not even lifting a toe off the ground.
This private observatory located in the Andes at a 40 minutes drive from Santiago, offers an impressive introduction into the world above and around us. We will be warmly received by our hosts for our boutique tour.
First, an experienced astronomer takes us through a presentation with interesting and astounding facts about the universe, the planets, and the stars.
Then, leaving the theoretic part behind, we get a chance to observe the night sky with our bare eyes. Moving onwards in technology we use binoculars, and bigger telescopes until we finally get to use the high-tech telescopes of the observatory.
To bring you back down to earth, you will be served wine, cheese and other refreshments at the end of the tour. Then you will also have the opportunity to join into discussion with the other members of the group, in order to share experiences and impressions.
You will be picked up at 19.30 and returned by 24.00 max to your hotel (1/2 hour drive from Providencia).
This unique adventure focuses on two of South America’s heaviest hitters – the Galapagos Islands and the Inca Trail. Take 17 days to explore these wildly different parts of the region. Snorkel the turtle-filled waters of Leon Dormido, then walk the cobblestone streets of Cusco. Sit on black-sand beaches watching sea lions lounge and later conquer the 4200-metre-high Dead Woman’s Pass. Witness breathtaking natural beauty among the surreal landscapes of the Galapagos, then wonder at the man-made elegance of Machu Picchu. This tour offers immersive and active adventure led by locals in two bucket-list favourites.

This is an absolutely incredible tour -- our guide Jason was both very informative and very helpful. He explained the history of the Arenal volcano to us, we took a short hike a small part of the way up the mountain, and then went back down to look at wildlife in the rainforest. We saw spider monkeys, which Jason said are a pretty rare sight, and then a red curacao just walked out onto the trail in front of us! It was an incredible feeling to just be seeing all these animals spontaneously on a nature hike.
Speaking of hikes, it is important to be aware that this tour is somewhat physically demanding. There are no extreme parts, just some strenuous walking over very uneven ground, but I think the tour description could do a better job of emphasizing the challenge. At the same time, the tour is extremely convenient in terms of picking you up and dropping you off at your desired location, whether a hotel, hot springs, or somewhere else. Overall, I strongly recommend the Arenal Volcano trip to anyone who is into volcanoes and wildlife and plans to visit the Arenal area.

We just returned from the Costa Rica Eco-Adventure (2/1/2025-2/8/2025). This was our sixth Trafalgar trip. was a WONDERFUL tour guide. Very knowledgeable and personable. worked very hard; it was much appreciated! It was a great tour!
A couple of things we noticed on this trip, that were different than previous Trafalgar trips . . . We prepaid our gratuities (as we always do). Usually, the tour guide talks about the ability to tip the guides and drivers, and thanks those who have already paid the gratuity. This didn't happen on this trip. We hope he received our prepaid gratuity! Also, on previous trips, it was noted if you had been a previous Trafalgar traveler. This did not happen on this trip. We are proud Trafalgar trip repeaters, which makes us some of your greatest advertisers.
One suggestion we had: For our farewell dinner, we went to a restaurant where we could order off the menu. There were 42 of us. It took probably two hours to get our food. It would be better to limit the menu to a couple of appetizers, salads, main entrees and desserts, to make the evening not as long.
Thanks again for a wonderful experience. We will be back to travel with Trafalgar again!

I did the Rainbow Mountain tour with Edgar and it was amazing! He is a great guide with a lot of information to share and super nice! The tour starts early which is great, because you will reach the mountains before all the others do and it was an amazing experience! The food we got was also really good. Thank you.
