We all had a wonderful time, the whole group got along and we made life long friends. It was fast, we saw a lot of beautiful places. Our driver was excellent, his name was Chris and our tour leader was Martina ""Marty"" who had a wealth of information since she has traveled the world visiting every country in this world… amazing! We would highly recommend Expat, this was our sixth trip. Safe travels!
You can't see everything in a 12-day tour of the Balkans, but this trip was a full insight, taking in so many places of historic and general interest. Our courier/host was a 'best friend' guiding us, helping us, answering all our questions and sharing love of her country and knowledge to enrich us. Apart from the historic aspect, we were introduced to regional cuisine, giving us (literally) a flavour of the Balkans. The itinerary is a full one, with a lot of walking (and sometimes climbing - achy legs!) Our careful driver was helpful with loading and unloading our bags. An excellent package.
Loved the scenery, company, tour guide. I've learnt a lot and appreciate a good knowledgeable guide. I enjoyed every minute of the tour. A activity day 1 like a thermal pool would have been a great ice breaker.
Make your way through the Balkans with this fascinating tour of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenia! Your next destination will be in Mostar, where you can see the Stonebridge that separates the Orthodox, Muslim, and Catholic communities and explore the sacred pilgrimage destination. See the Kravice Waterfalls before you explore Dubrovnik, one of the most beautiful Croatian cities in Europe famous for its strong stone walls. Next, you will travel to Split, known for its gorgeous seascapes, where you will visit the Diocletian’s Palace. Pay a visit to Plitvice Lakes National Park, a World Heritage Site in Croatia, and explore Opatija, known for its captivating coastal views. Enjoy a scenic boat ride on Bled Lake before you travel to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, steeped in deep culture and art. Your next stop will be Maribor, a Slovenian city that was highly influenced by Austrian culture. See the beautiful cathedral and castle before you make your way back to Zagreb where your tour of Croatia, Bosnia, and Slovenia will come to an end!
Danilo our Tour Director is one of the very best. This is my 13th Trafalgar your and I can say that Dani was the perfect blend of fun, smart, organized and energetic. Slobodan our bus driver was amazing. They both are now legends for me!
The tour was comprehensive and covered a lot of ground. Seven countries! Great agenda and inclusions. Our Be Our Guest excursion to the Winery and our farewell dinner on our last night are two of the best inclusions I have experienced in my many tours.

Our group Explore Leader, Filip Kolic, is highly professional in ensuring our trip is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. He's quick in problem-solving and forward thinking for example he's on top of organising alternative transport back-to-back for our group when early news of regional floodings and landslides had caused disruptions of the railway and road connections to our next destination. Great job there as we were able to reach our next city to continue our planned guided city tour, although quite short. We managed to celebrate our trial & tribulation at a lovely quick dinner next to our hotel! All went well with extra National Park sceneries and travel experiences!

I enjoyed the variety of places we visited. I especially liked having a local guide at each location to learn about the history and culture of each place. The only regret for me was that we couldn’t spend more time in Lake Bled. I liked that we were able to take the boats over to the island, but I would have also enjoyed seeing a view of the lake from a higher vantage point to be able to see the entire lake with the island in the middle. Otherwise, I was fully pleased with the itinerary of the tour.
