From the neon lights of Tokyo to the peaceful temples of Kyoto, Japan was incredible. Riding the bullet train was a highlight, and the cherry blossoms in Osaka were breathtaking!
The Japan Unrivalled trip was an amazing blend of hitting all the touristy hotspots, finding out of the way gems, learning all about the amazing history, and eating amazing food! Ikimasho!
Experience the goodness of Japan with this tour, which takes you through some of the country's most iconic destinations. Begin in the vibrant city of Tokyo and visit famous landmarks in Japan like the Tokyo Zojoji Temple, Shibuya Crossing, and Sumo Stadium. Also, get a chance to experience the bustling nightlife in Tokyo. Next, we will visit Kawaguchiko, located at the base of Mt. Fuji, where you'll take a boat ride on Lake Kawaguchiko to enjoy the best views of Mt. Fuji. Continue your travel to Kyoto, a historic city known for its temples and shrines. Next, visit beautiful Osaka, the food capital of Japan. From Osaka, we will go to Okayama and visit the famous Korakuen Garden, one of the three great gardens of Japan. Continue to Hiroshima, where you can go to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Museum to learn about the atomic bombing in 1945, visit the iconic Itsukushima Shrine, located on Miyajima Island, and explore the beautiful Hiroshima Castle and its surrounding park. Next, take a ferry to Matsuyama, located on the island of Shikoku, where you visit Matsuyama Castle, one of Japan's few remaining original castles, and relax in Dogo Onsen, one of Japan's oldest hot springs and the inspiration for the famous Studio Ghibli film, Spirited Away. Finally, head to Kobe, where you'll explore the bustling port city, visit the iconic Kobe Port Tower, try some of the famous Kobe beef at a local restaurant, and visit the Nunobiki Herb Garden, which offers stunning views of the city and has a large variety of herbs and flowers. Return to Osaka where this comprehensive Japan tour comes to an end. Fly back home as you bid goodbye to this wonderful country.
The trip was extremely enjoyable for most part and showed us the urban and rural Japan along with the modern and traditional. We covered tokyo, Mt Fuji, Kyoto,Osaka, Okayama and Hiroshima. The guides were quite knowledgeable though we had 3 guides in 9 days Hotels were good except to the Candeo at Osaka and Hiroshima. Rooms were small and claustrophobic. Also there is one day in kyoto where the sightseeing involves a lot of walking Bamboo forest, Tenyurji, Imperial Palace, Fushimi Inari and at the earliest can end by 3. A small snack served o the bus would be very helpful. 6 meals were included in our tour but they were all similar with sukiyaki and sashimi/ tempura. The other cuisines of Japan were left out. Also, 1 or 2 buffet meals with alternate spread may be ok for outsiders. The option for vegan and vegetarian people was limited to tofu which was not expected in this day and age.The trip does say a lot of walking and we came prepared for that, but in many of the locations the time give is insufficient to cover or even see properly. Also, since the tour allows all age groups, the speed of the seniors/ older persons should be kept in mind.
We really enjoyed our 12 days trip to Japan. Our tour guide David Solanes was great I liked that he talked about and showed us the history of the places we visited ahead of time, so that we knew what to expect. He was also very tentative to all of the travelers on the bus to make sure we were taken care of. I love that he introduced us to some of the local famous foods and snacks of the places we visited too.
I loved this tour, not just for the beautiful sights but for how much I learned. Japan is so different from North America in terms of culture, manners, even how people move through a city. I found it fascinating.
The tour guide didn’t just take us from place to place. He taught us about Shinto traditions, post-war history, Japanese etiquette (like how to bow or take off your shoes in homes), and more. I felt like I came home not just with photos, but with a better understanding of the world.
We saw cherry blossoms, temples, even deer in Nara Park. Hiroshima moved me deeply. The whole trip was emotional and eye-opening, but in the best way.
I’m 66, and this tour was easy on the body and stimulating for the mind. What more could you ask for?
Terrific tour....
We stopped at choice locations..
David Solanes was our guide and he was amazing, taking considerable care of everyones questions be they related to the tour events, free time or other aspects of the country, culture and travel. He provided excellent contextual overviews and made the experience for everyone fun and most enjoyable. He was great at getting everyone moving through the events without a lot of waiting on others... truly passionate about the tour stops and ensuring all had a great time.
The hotels and locations were convenient and generally quite good.
Meeting new people from different parts of the world and traveling with them to different places and learning about the beautiful and unique culture of japan with the help of two incredible guides,i.e., Mr Reigutsu and Mr. David is what i liked most about the tour. Both of them were excellent guides and being in their company was truly enjoyable.
Curious about Japan’s cultural tapestry? The “Capitals of Japan End Kyoto” trip offers an 8-day guided journey from Tokyo to Kyoto, designed with seniors in mind. Glide comfortably through the highlights of Tokyo’s vibrant cityscape, the historic grandeur of Kyoto, and the poignant history of Hiroshima.
Easy-paced sightseeing ensures you enjoy every site without feeling fatigued. Hotels, transportation, and meals are included, so you can focus fully on the experience. The unique selling point here is the seamless blend of Japan’s ancient and modern capitals, paired with thoughtful pacing—ideal for senior travelers seeking a stress-free way to witness Japan’s most famous cities and stories.
Tour guides were very punctual. The Geisha tour was not too clear as how the passengers were going to return to hotel. The Holiday Inn gave us 3 rooms in different floors which made it difficult to have access to each other since room keys are accessible only to designated floor.
Have been on many guided tours in the world. This tour tops them all.
A couple from Canada made our group feel uncomfortable by being demanding and rude sometimes. Min did a great PR job.
Sculpture Park was amazing, especially the Picasso Museum. Seeing cherry blossom for the first time with Mountains of snow in background was a plus. Trying and tasting the local food was a gastronomical experience.
With a small group I and the others received personalized attention. I have a problem with heights and stairs. I was lucky to have Min's arm to guide me so I did not feel apprehensive or falter.
Where would you like to visit next?: Not sure, but I don't like cruising. Only land travel. Congrats to your travel firm for such a wonderful experience to Japan. Special thanks to Min.
The other passengers were very nice. The tour itself was jam packed and I enjoyed everything there was to offer. I was always exhausted at the end of the day but I knew it was well worth it because we were getting the most out of our time spent in Japan
