The entire tour was an incredible experience. Every stop was filled with history, culture, architecture and always a culinary jackpot. A few of the many favorites are the Prosecco vineyard visit with a pasta making class instructed by an authentic Nona. The entire group prepared the pasta from scratch and then enjoyed the fruits our labors for dinner. We also had a wonderful evening at the home of an Italian Noble. Although they no longer hold titles, the home or estate had been in the family for over 500 years. Jacopo Shared his families history that dates back over 1000 years. After filling our minds either knowledge and eyes with amazing artwork and design, we were served one of the best meals in life. In short, this experience has me wanting to return to Italy so that I can continue the experience into other areas and maybe just stay forever.

Overall the trip was pretty well organized. All tour guides we had were very knowledgeable and informative regarding cities and historic landmarks with enough details. Even though we were English speaking our trip included Spanish/ Asian speaking tourists as well. They did a pretty good job of accommodating everyone. I was under the impression our trip was with the same group from start to finish but was not the case and the group interchanged as we progressed along the route. This tour is fantastic as a history lesson on Sicily and how it has struggled to maintain a self of identity while being dominated by so many different cultures. I loved the sights that we saw on the different parts of the island - the Greek, Norman, Roman architecture all blending together is stunning!! I wish I had really thought through the driving times that are listed on the itinerary. Being on a full tour bus for 3-4 hours many times as we drove from one part of the island to another, was uncomfortable. Coupled with long travel days at the beginning/ending of the trip, my back and leg muscles were very cramped up. Collette does a great job of finding EXCELLENT local experts, each person was well informed and also able to interact with large groups. Our tour manager was fun, knowledgeable, and handled all of our logistics seamlessly! Kudos to Christian !! This trip was our 2nd tour with Collette and we are planning on using their program again when we set up our next adventure!
