The Christmas & New Year's Eastern Highlights Tour with Expat Explore was an unforgettable experience, offering a perfect blend of festive charm, cultural discovery, and breathtaking scenery. Our driver, Alex, was fantastic as well, navigating long distances with skill and safety, making the journey stress-free.

We loved everything about this trip! We did it in the relatively cooler month of late October and it was perfect! We arrived to pick up our bikes and were issued bikes in excellent condition, with great instructions and repair gear and we had no issues at all with them. The accommodation organised for us was as described; not 5 star but always cute and very clean with great breakfasts provided and lovely people meeting us at the end of each day. Our bags were always there when we arrived. The navigation app was fantastic; we had a bit of a learning curve on Day 1 but then no problems at all. The loop we did was amazing. Would highly recommend the Sierra De Grazalema - gorgeous villages, amazing views, and minimal traffic. We would highly recommend this trip. It exceeded our expectations.

The barge and crew were magnificent. Warm. Welcoming. Shining clean and food exceptional. Guide, Tammy, made time for all while keeping things moving. Herding cats is difficult! But she did this with grace and courtesy. Biking was easy. This was our first guided tour and surprised at all the knowledge Tammy shared plus all the interesting side visits we went on. Loved the cheese and Grappa tasting!

I’ve always loved Italy, but doing it by rail added a special touch. Over eight days, we hit Rome, Florence, Venice, and wrapped up in Milan, all by high-speed train. The pace worked perfectly for me (I’m 58), with fresh city arrivals each morning and comfortable hotels each night
The highlights: a hop-on hop-off loop in Rome hit the Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain , an optional wine tasting tour that I booked in Florence and Venice’s gondola ride. Everything flowed perfectly well..no dragging suitcases or missed trains.

We had a great time on our walk. Everything went as described, including detailed information pre-tour, accomodation and luggage transfers. The Camino Norte was phenomenally beautiful although was harder physically than we had expected. It was our first multi-day trek and the more training you can do pre-trip (especially hills) the better. Day 2 was particularly hard but then your body adjusts and you get into a rhythm of the day. We are already planning our next trek.

A very enjoyable trip will be it a bit more strenuous than I had expected from the notes although the walks are short the terrain is extremely rugged at this challenge many in the group. The leader was good at leading the walks and handling everybody, but he was a little bit weak on the communications side, and quite a while people were unsure about what was coming up exactly.

What a wonderful e-bike and barge tour from Paris to Epernay. Highly recommend. The conduct of this tour was professional in every way. The scenery so beautiful, the guides so knowledgeable and expert in their roles and the Zwaantze barge itself a wonderful barge to call home for such a tour ably managed by the captain Bart and his team. We loved the experience. Also second tour we have been on the Zwaantze as we did the Bruges to Amsterdam bike and Barge tour in 2018. These tours are wonderful ways to travel and enjoy being active at the same time.
