I couldn't have organized a trip like this myself. Usually I was someone who organized the logistics for her own travel but using G Adventures meant that I didn't have to worry about booking hostels or figuring out public transportation. For the most part the selected locations were great. The bus were modern and comfortable. I would highly recommend offering smaller group options and/or allowing a group to finish tour together. The constant adding headcount can be difficult as there’s a culture adjustment between groups. At one point I felt crowded. Also, company should consider utilizing hotels within main cities to allow tourists to visit nearby restaurants. All of our hotels were 20/40 minutes from major cities forcing us to eat at the hotel.

Was a good tour all things considered with the weather being so stormy. Hotels were great, breakfasts were super.
It would be better if the tour groups size was smaller and the buses were smaller and filled with only one language group.
One of the male guides told off colour jokes in Portuguese, not appropriate in mixed groups.
For the parts of the tour that were cancelled due to bad weather, we were not offered a small refund or other option to do.
Hotels should not be outside of the towns as food choices for supper were very limited at least 4 times.
Herin was to book an extra night in Madrid for us and did not. He quoted a much higher price than the hotel gave us.
This trip was exactly what I needed. After years of family holidays and work trips, doing something like this — just me, my wife, a car, and no daily schedule, felt like a throwback to how we used to travel.
The best part? We weren’t herded around or stuck waiting for a big group. We just got in the car and drove. Some days we were super active, other days we just wandered and sat in cafes.
Croatia’s charm is obvious, but Slovenia really caught us off guard. The nature is pristine, the towns feel like no less than a fairytale, and even the touristy places don’t feel overwhelming. Also, it’s worth saying the roads were great, parking wasn’t a nightmare, and the car rental process was straightforward. That stuff matters when you’re not 25 anymore.
If you want a bit of culture, nature, good food, and a proper break from the usual routine this is your tour. We’re already talking about doing another self-drive next year. Portugal, maybe?

The tour was incredible. There were times we drove more than toured areas so that was a little bit of a bummer but the countries were very spread out so I understand. Only thing was the BMW Welt was a little boring and would have been more fun taking a tour of the olympia park and learned more about the Munich massacre but we got to walk down to it on our own.
