Loved the organization of our Scotland trip! Steven, our guide, was excellent! Some of my favorite trips were Bosnia and Beyond and Baltics in Winter (older version). Great communication with the US office in planning.

This was my first trip with Explore but I hope it will not be my last. The trip was great, the food and accommodations were better than expected, and the guides were exceptional.

Boat and all staff friendly and helpful. Rides were great and quite challenging. Our fellow passengers were fun and we were all compatible. This was an excellent trip
Enjoyed the trip 100%. People services were well organized and thoughtful. The scenery was gorgeous. Only one criticism was lack of a outdoor toilets which may have lessened the disturbing litter of toilet paper occasionally spotted.

Walk through the Cheviot Hills from Scotland to England en-route to Britain's very own Galapagos. The St Cuthbert’s Way is a long-distance path that was established in 1996. The route reflects the life of this 7th century monk, extending from Melrose Abbey in the Scottish borders, where he became bishop to the island of Lindisfarne just off the coast of Northumberland in northeast England, where he was buried. So the ‘Way’ links places associated with his life. It includes a variety of delightfully unspoilt countryside: the Tweed Valley (origin of the famous woollen cloth), the Eildon Hills, the Cheviot Hills (origin of one of the most famous breeds of sheep), and the Northumberland coast with its broad horizons, sandy beaches and dramatic contrasts between high and low tide. The small historic towns en route - Melrose, Kirk Yetholm and Wooler - are equally unspoilt and offer a pleasant contrast with the thinly populated countryside. There is an abundance of historical features, including ruined abbeys at Melrose and Lindisfarne, the battle site at Harestanes Moor and old castles. The standard route is intended to be walked in 4 long days, but we have made several modifications to make the day stages slightly shorter and perhaps more interesting. The tour ends on Lindisfarne, but we recommend that if you have time, you opt for the extended tour which takes you back to the mainland and the beautiful village of Bamburgh overlooked by its grand castle and further down the coast, past the magnificent ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle to near the ancient kipper producing village of Craster.
From London’s bustling streets to the historic charm of Edinburgh, this "London to Edinburgh - 8 Days" small group journey is a celebration of Britain’s cultural and natural wonders. With a gentle, easy-paced itinerary, it’s ideal for seasoned travelers and seniors looking to enjoy iconic sites without the rush.
Delve into history at Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare’s birthplace, and take a day trip into Wales to admire Conwy Castle and the wild beauty of Snowdonia National Park. Traverse the scenic Peak District, visit the grandeur of Chatsworth House, and wander the medieval streets of York. The rolling landscapes of the North York Moors, the Yorkshire Dales, and the famed Lake District offer plenty of photo-worthy moments, including an included cruise on Lake Windermere and a visit to the ancient Castlerigg stone circle.
Follow in Roman footsteps at Hadrian’s Wall before concluding your adventure in the cultural capital of Scotland. The tour package includes all accommodations, transport, and meals, offering a seamless blend of comfort and enrichment. The unique selling point? A thoughtfully designed route that connects England’s and Scotland’s must-see destinations, combining history, literature, and natural beauty—all at a pace that encourages true appreciation.
