Enjoyed the trip 100%. People services were well organized and thoughtful. The scenery was gorgeous. Only one criticism was lack of a outdoor toilets which may have lessened the disturbing litter of toilet paper occasionally spotted.

The Great Glen Way was a beautiful trail to do as a first time solo hiker. The first couple of days fairly easy going before getting into steeper longer sections in the second half. Spectacular views of Loch Ness. Take the high route options whenever you can. The guesthouses were a highlight - cosy rooms and welcoming hosts always up for a chat. Luggage transfer worked seamlessly. Maps easy to follow and the trail was well signposted.

Fabulous trip, if too rushed at the beginning. If we could set off on day 1 from Inverness earlier in the day it would be preferable. Days were a bit rushed, too, leaving hardly any time to explore/do anything in Kirkwall, since they rool up tge sidewalk at 4:30 or 5pm. Marco did great job of altering itinerary to accommodate those who wanted time in town. An additional day, however unwieldy for the tour operator, could easily solve it. On last day, the later departure from Kirkwall helped too. The walks and Neolithic sites were great, made incredible by the fantastic sunny weather we were lucky enough to have. The guides providing dinner reservations for the group was helpful too, as the place seemed quite busy.

The route reflects the life of this 7th century monk, extending from Melrose Abbey in the Scottish borders, where he became bishop to the island of Lindisfarne just off the coast of Northumberland in northeast England, where he was buried. So the ‘Way’ links places associated with his life. It includes a variety of delightfully unspoilt countryside: the Tweed Valley (origin of the famous woollen cloth), the Eildon Hills, the Cheviot Hills (origin of one of the most famous breeds of sheep), and the Northumberland coast with its broad horizons, sandy beaches and dramatic contrasts between high and low tide. The small historic towns en route - Melrose, Kirk Yetholm and Wooler - are equally unspoilt and offer a pleasant contrast with the thinly populated countryside. There is an abundance of historical features, including ruined abbeys at Melrose and Lindisfarne, the battle site at Harestanes Moor and old castles. The standard route is intended to be walked in 4 long days, but we have made several modifications to make the day stages slightly shorter and perhaps more interesting. The tour ends on Craster/Dunstan, which takes you back to the mainland and the beautiful village of Bamburgh overlooked by its grand castle and further down the coast, past the magnificent ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle to near the ancient kipper producing village of Craster/Dunstan.

This wonderfully diverse 5 island hopping whisky and walking tour incorporating the island of Arran and the islands of the Inner Hebrides, offers a taste of Scotland in every way you can imagine! We begin the adventure with 2 nights on Arran where we ascend majestic Goatfell mountain and visit the mystical Machrie Moor standing stones and enjoy a tour of Arran’s highly regarded whisky distillery.
Then we are off to Islay for 3 nights – the southernmost of the Inner Hebrides, known for its numerous whisky distilleries producing the island’s characteristically peaty malts. We have several tastings and at least one distillery tour during our time here as well as some beautiful walks including stunning coastlines and snippets of the island’s history.
From here we take a short ferry journey over to the isle of Jura for a magnificent mountain ascent as well as a visit to Jura distillery.
Our next island is Mull where we are based for 4 nights giving us plenty of time to explore this magical isle including a mountain walk on Scotland’s most westerly ‘Munro’ (listed mountain over 3000 feet) and a day visit to the small fascinating island of Ulva where we do a delightful circular walk on this lesser know community-owned and run island.
We also have time to visit beautiful rugged coastlines and of course, incorporate a tasting tour at Tobermory distillery.

Maia was excellent, informative, flexible, all around awesome. Would of like more plans in Edinburgh instead of being escorted to off and on bus. Edinburgh Castle tour was sold out by the time we got there in the afternoon. If we knew that day was unescorted we would of planned our day better.What a great surprise we had Maia.
