The trip was a very enjoyable one and we were well attended to by your guides Pablo and Maria, both explained things very well and ensured our needs were met. We spent most of the time with Maria and She was super as she knew a whole LOT and in the rare chance she did not know an answer to a question she was great at letting you know shed find out and actually finding the answer and getting back to us. She was a huge part of the comfort we had with this trip. Too, the dear lady lost a close family member but remained with us at a time that could have been very hard for someone to do their job, I felt she went above and beyond what I expected.
I hope Europamundo can operate directly with their clients online without getting involved the local tour operators from their respective countries
It will help us to customize our itinerary directly with Europamundo
As of my tour, my local tour operator informed that the itinerary is finalized and no changes can be made but when I started the tour and communicated with staff of Europamundo, I was told that itinerary is flexible and if informed in advance, necessary modifications can be made accordingly.
Thanks

Tour Lisbon-Fatima-Madrid-Barcelona Sep 19-25, 2019
Our group of 8 couples from Canada had a blasts We did not expected a comprehensive tour experience and the great professionalism from your tour leaders particularly Toni, Ana, Yelda, Angeles, not to mention local tour leaders Carolina, Annabella and Teresa.
Tour started at Lisbon Sep 19 and ended at Barcelona Sep 25. The hotels were above average and the breakfast had lots of choices and were filling until the early afternoon hours of the tour.
I guess, we got a great deal for the tour package.
As in any big company, we had some minor glitches. I will summarize some below:
- Only 2 of the 7 rooms were available at Holiday Inn Express in Lisbon when we arrived 1 pm. Waited an hour to accommodate all of us. I guess the hotel was full the previous day.
- During our bus trip from Zaragoza to Poblet 2 hours, the bus air conditioning did not work. Two hours of sweat and no air ventilation. Temp reached 29 deg C inside the bus. The driver decided to open his window only during the last 30 minutes to bring down the temp. He gave us free bottled water 1 eurosomewhere in the end.
I guess this is unavoidable circumstance for the trip.
- The Sintra Excursion was not properly handled. The local tour guide Annabella did not mention to us that the top castle could be reach by bus, tuk-tuk or taxi. We had 1.5 hours in the area. My friends were supposedly looking forward to see the castle place. She should have given that option, I think.
- In Madrid, my friends were interested to watch the bullfight scheduled Sunday at 6pm. However, we have a Flamenco excursion at 9pm. Yelda, our tour leader DID NOT mention that the Flamenco site is inside the bullring area too. We should have booked a bullring fight with my friends and just met them after the bullfight. Bad decision on her part. I guess she want it as a secret location surprise. Too bad, we missed it
- We had no transfer from Sagrada excursion/La Ramblas to the hotel. We paid 45 Euros each just to be on your own, afterwards? All of us ended paying taxi to reach our hotel. They should have provided bus for our group of 17 persons.
- Again, we had no transfer from Plaza Mayor to the hotel. We ended up taking the Metro. Is this normal?
Anyways, our group had fun and fond memories of Portugal and Spain. Thank you very much Europamundo. We will be back again using your services in the future. We will also recommend you to our friends.
Lessons Learned: Not to book the excursions we booked Sintra, Flamenco, Sagrada. All had mess up the bus schedules of our group - as such, bus schedule pick-up/logistics and program were affected.

Really enjoyed this tour. Itinerary was great. Pace was right, and our tour leader was amazing. Will definitely come back to Spain and Portugal again. Touring Morocco was great too, and very different from travelling in Europe. Had I done this tour as a single traveller it would have costed me a lot more, so got value for money as well. Will soon book my next trip. Recommended.

For the most part the selected locations were great. The bus were modern and comfortable. I would highly recommend offering smaller group options and/or allowing a group to finish tour together. The constant adding headcount can be difficult as there’s a culture adjustment between groups. At one point I felt crowded. Also, company should consider utilizing hotels within main cities to allow tourists to visit nearby restaurants. All of our hotels were 20/40 minutes from major cities forcing us to eat at the hotel.

Overall a great trip. Our guides were wonderful and very helpful. Not all of the hotels were up to standard. The Marina Hotel In Kusadasi was the worst. Very shabby, dirty, and the water was turned off at night The front desk offered no explanation, just that it would be back on at 5:00. The Pasabey Hotel in Marmaris also not very good, and they turned their wifi off at night, until 8 a.m. This is unacceptable. We had trouble with the wifi in all the hotels except in Istanbul. Very difficult for a traveller with no cell phone data. The food set meal in the Hilton, Safranbolu was terrible. Staff were extremely unhelpful, and would not supply small extras such as butter. Very surprising for a Hilton. The itinerary was great - lots of interesting, beautiful and historic sites. Nice to have the ferry and boat rides included during the tour. Could have done without the carpet and leather shops.
A lovely week's walking in the very green scenery of Northern Spain. There was a different feeling about this trip as you know you are following in the footsteps of the thousands of people that have walked that route as a pilgrimage since medieval times.

For anyone with coeliac disease, this trip is perfection. You get wonderful food, and lots of it. I managed to put on weight in spite of the energy expenditure, which was considerable!
