Siggy was the kindest, most knowledgeable, most helpful tour guide. He knew Iceland and was kind and thoughtful to his customers. He stopped for bathroom breaks, made suggestions, asked our opinions and was so enjoyable. I would recommend him and this tour. We saw so much. Even though the tour started late we saw all the itinerary and more! One bonus was stopping to see a roundup of horses on the peninsula.
We were so very satisfied with our tour , from morning pick up ,and the drive was so calming , the driver Emmett ( I believe ) was an expert driver, and Snowiss was very knowledgeable with facts . They were excellent !

You will meet your experienced guide at Skaftafell Information Centre Parking lot and from there you will be driven to the root of Svínafellsjökull, which is an outlet glacier of the Vatnajökull Ice Cap. The glacier is a part of the tallest mountain range in Iceland, and the highest peak in the country, Hvannadalshnúkur is easily seen from the glacier in a clear sky.
Before stepping on the ice, your guide will gear you up and provide you with the necessary safety equipment needed for this glacier expedition and teach you how it’s used.
During the glacier walk, you will be exploring the breathtaking ice formations and moulins while learning how they are formed and constantly change. You will also be able to attempt to conquer gravity when you get the chance to climb up the ice walls with ice axes and crampons. Very organized. The time was well used to see major sites and to get a feel for the history and daily life. The tour was responsive to our request to include some outdoor, active activities in addition to sightseeing. The local guide was very good, knowledgeable and genial. Importantly, he was a good driver. The hotels were well selected, except for the one in Cluj which was a bit out of the center.
