Tour guide was fantastic and knowledgeable on everything from the history of where we were, to places to eat, to myths, legends and local stories. The driver was phenomenal and I have motion sickness which was never an issue with him behind the wheel. Would recommend to anyone who like me, wants a trip where they can just truly relax and enjoy knowing everything will go smoothly.
This was a fun trip, but it was very fast-paced. It gave a great overview of all that the UK and Ireland have to offer, but there wasn’t enough time to see very much of it in depth. It’s perfect for helping you pick out the places you want to see again in more detail. It involves a fair amount of riding around on the coach, but the route is consistently planned with carefully spaced “comfort” breaks. Some of the stops in small towns were given too much time, when there wasn’t much to do or see, and some of the stops could have been longer, when there was a lot to see or do. Our Tour Director was excellent, and so was our driver. Most of the hotels were very nice, with a few that were just OK. The included group dinners weren’t very exciting, but they were reasonable and tasty.
Say cheerio to Inverness and embark on a full-day adventure through the rugged Highlands on an Isle of Skye day tour. Gear up for an epic trip across the northwest of Scotland where it’s as much about the journey to get there as it is about the destination. Try your luck in spotting legendary Nessie as you drive along world-famous Loch Ness, and step back in time at iconic Eilean Donan Castle, before arriving on the Isle of Skye, where myths, legends and magic await!
Head to the north and west of our majestic country to discover some of the sexiest scenery on the planet. A stunning day tour of the Highlands, a land of forests, mountains, rivers and glens. Visit a local whisky distillery and sample a warming dram of single malt whisky. The day concludes with our return to Edinburgh in time for an evening at the world-famous Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Combine movie magic and historic wonder on this Scottish Borders and Alnwick Castle tour from Edinburgh. You will visit the picturesque seaside village of Bamburgh and have the chance to visit 5th century Bamburgh Castle, sitting dramatically above the beautiful beach. Another highlight of the day is Alnwick Castle. This historic gem represents royal splendour and was a key filming location for Harry Potter and Downton Abbey. Lose yourself in tales of the past, and the enchantment of it all, on this journey between the border of Scotland and England.
The entire trip was wonderful. I’m unable to single out just one city or experience because I enjoyed it all equally. I signed up for every optional experience and was not disappointed. I loved the ruins and the history from both our tour director and the specialists brought on in various areas.
