This tour to Nicaragua takes you on an exciting journey through exploring the colonial city of Leon, the stunning Ometepe Island, and the charming town of Granada. It begins in Leon, one of the oldest cities in America, where you'll see the city's UNESCO-listed ruins and the Cathedral of Leon. From Leon, the journey continues to Ometepe Island, taking a ferry from San Jorge to Moyogalpa. This was a challenging trip with a mixture of hard and easy cycling covering a number of different areas of this beautiful country. We had a good mixed group who gelled together very quickly and which made the time together very enjoyable. The trip covered many beautiful areas of Costa Rica with many opportunities to see the wild life and dramatic land and sea scapes.

I totally enjoyed the Mayan experience with our tour leader Thomas Morales...we were his family and he organised a brilliant holiday for us. He solved a major problem we had with our phone...I highly recommend him as a tour leader.
My only concern was the treatment of farm animals going for slaughter....I did not see any vetinary supervision or any health and safety practices.

Highlights of Costa Rica was an excellent trip, it packed in many sites and activities. I was a little apprehensive about the float trip but it was slow and gentle and allowed us to get a unique view from the river. The guide was excellent and pointed out lots of aniand birds. The rain and cloud forests didn't disappoint and I thoroughly enjoyed the fast paced trip.

Overall the trip was good.
However, it would have been nice to have stayed an extra day at the eco-lodge Selva Verde, as a day off rather than at La Fortuna which was a tourist town. The trip was suppose to be a wildlife tour. There was only the need for one day at La Fortuna, so very disappointing missed out on Selva Verde.
The accommodation at La Fortuna was awful, more of a motel, very disappointing not even near a wildlife area, very disappointing.
Otherwise, the other hotels were very nice.
Our tour leader Walter, excellent, very entertaining, organised, informative, and efficient everyone liked Walter.
Also our Bus driver, Randy, very thoughtful about his passengers, an excellent driver, considering the conditions he had to drive in, and also he kept the bus clean, and tidy. Very impressed, little things.

The trip really packed in some iconic elements of Costa Rica, and lived up to its name in terms of seeing the highlights. It was great to experience the contrast of the Caribbean lowlands, rain forest and the pacific coast. And seeing the abundance of wildlife was incredible, as well as the delicious local dishes and wonderful people we me along the way.
The guide was great, really personable and had good knowledge and a keen sense to show us as much as possible, often stopping en route when he had spied interesting animals from the van.
The Manuel Antonio and the La Fortuna accommodation was great. The Authentico hotel was fine for passing through but we had paid for an additional night in San Jose, and for this purpose the hotel wasn’t in the best of locations as it was on the edge of the city with not much around in terms of restaurants so we felt a bit stuck in the hotel at the end.
