First time in Portugal and first time on a walking holiday with a guide! This holiday was a late booking & I selected as it was the ‘leisurely’ grade and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Actually we managed it very easily so if I do another guided walk I would definitely try the next grade. The tour leader, Rocío was excellent, so enthusiastic and friendly, with great local knowledge & network of contacts. Tavira is a lovely town, easy walk to lots of very nice restaurants. The hotel was very nice, but the long daily schedule left little time to make use of the facilities; so maybe ‘upgraded’ was unnecessary? Enjoyed every walk, fantastic scenery and a great group of fellow hikers.

Balkan’s Route – Excellent trip from start to finish. Everything mentioned in the itinerary was covered, and the whole journey was very well organized. The guides were great—friendly and knowledgeable—and the hotels were comfortable. Overall, a smooth and enjoyable experience.

As an Explore veteran of many decades, this must rate as on of their best one week holidays. No long bus journeys or early starts. Two fantastic hotels, just yards from the sea and seconds from the nearest bars and restaurants. Our tour leader, Chantelle was exceptional in her knowledge, friendliness and humour. She was constantly looking for ways to make our trip even better and effortlessly adapted the itinerary if necessary. The trip was relaxing and enjoyable from start to finish.

Highlights of Kerala

The trip had just the right mix of cultural experiences & free time. Our guide, Biju, made the trip. His knowledge, story telling, help & advice meant we felt safe & supported, and could concentrate on just enjoying the tour. Without him it wouldn't have been as good.

From start to finish, this trip to Ama Dablam BC has exceeded all expectations. My first time to Nepal & I couldn't have had a better experience. 2 really stand out highlights - apart from the Himalayas (!!!) of course: - the food - how do they make such delicious, nutritious, plentiful, sustaining food in those camps? - the expertise & care of the guides - a really knowledgable team. Not only about the walk, region, mountains, Nepal, culture. But when anyone was feeling unwell, Bikesh & team handled it with care & professionalism, understanding and a great balance of compassion, "can-do" & motivation! We all made it thanks to the great team. I am in awe of those porters - thank you SO SO much for carrying us all!!!

This tour was excellent. Our leader Rocio and her intern Vince are lovely people with generous souls, who did everything and more to ensure that all in the group were valued and supported in the individual ways needed.. the hotel Maria Nova was a perfect base. The itinerary challenged my personal capacity but Rocio and Vince encouraged and ensured I was able to meet my challenge. A wonderful opportunity to really experience and understand the Algarve, its environment and its people. Finally, with a diverse group of travellers, there was opportunity for both group bonding and doing one’s own adventure!
