This itinerary was a great way to see all the highlights Egypt has to offer. Along with a fantastic Tour Director this is the perfect trip for anyone interested in the history. Part of the itinerary was a cruise on the Nile. The ship and crew were fantastic and it was easily one of my favorite parts. With daily stops and chances to bond with other Travellers it was so much fun.
This Trafalgar tour includes both ancient history and current day industry. It was very interesting to see how they make different items today in Egypt.
The food provided with the itinerary was great, options for everyone.
I highly recommend this itinerary.

Great itinerary. I saw what I wanted to see. A bit hectic for a few days, waking up very early to catch a flight to Aswan then wake up early again to drive to Abu Simbel. But has a morning rest on the 3rd day and then 2 days rest in Hurghada. It was too cold to do much water activities. Hurghada accomodation is great with free drinks. Really enjoyed the tour with great group and tour guides.

Just returned from an amazing 11-day trip through Greece, Turkey, and Egypt! See the best of Egypt on this 11-day guided tour. Enjoy an afternoon in Cairo before joining an Egyptologist for an exclusive visit to the Pyramids of Giza, where you’ll walk inside one of its caverns and see the Sphinx. At the Egyptian Museum, gaze upon priceless treasures taken from the tomb of the country’s most famous pharaoh, Tutankhamun. See the Temple of Luxor during a VIP, after-hours visit, exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site free from other tour groups. See the Valley of the Kings, where Tutankhamun is buried. Choose to sail the Nile on a felucca, a traditional wooden boat, or visit Aswan Market for a shopping spree. Sip on tea at the Cataract Hotel, where Sir Winston Churchill once dined. The only thing I would change is that the first day - coming right after most people had taken trans-oceanic flights and still had jet lag - was too demanding (flying to Luxor, touring Karnak before checking into ship). It would have been better to have a lighter Day One to allow for rest and time zone adjustment, and do Karnak on the way back.
The all-women's tour group and the Tour Director were outstanding and hugely enhanced the experience.
Tipping became a constant irritant and would be better if Tour Director handled tips and Insight appropriately raised the package cost, to alleviate that daily chore (ensuring correct currency & denominations, ATM visits, etc.). PS - bring American dollars in small bills.
Overall, a fascinating country, knowledgeable and constantly helpful Tour Director, and a good balance of historic and current experiences. Aswan (and the Cataract Hotel) was a definite highlight, and don't pass on Abu Simbel. It is worth the cost; as is the Aswan boat tour of the Nile (two options worth doing).
