Beautiful country. Amazing tour guides. Enjoyed the scenery, the tours, and the hike to the Tiger's Nest Monastery ( which was the highlight of the trip ). The hotels and the food (all buffet) were good. The tour guide and the driver were spectacular. All of the people I encountered in Bhutan were friendly and welcoming.
Nestled in the heart of the great Himalayan mountain range, Druk Yul or "the land of thunder dragon", lies the Buddhist kingdom of Bhutan, one of the world’s most beautiful travel destinations.
Often referred to as the last Shangri-La, this tiny Himalayan kingdom hosts a remarkable variety of climates and ecosystems, including high mountain terrain, deep fertile valleys, and 72% of the nation under forest cover.
Our hand-picked itinerary and gives participants an opportunity to get a glimpse of the real Bhutan, interact with the people of Druk Yul and experience the Bhutanese way of life in its undiminished natural form.
Visitors were not allowed on the Druk route for a long time to keep them away from the Tibetan troops, but after a period of peace, this stunning trek has finally opened up for visitors, its unique culture, landscapes and beauty primed for exploration.
The Druk Path has great cultural significance, its high ridges offering windy conditions for most parts of the year, classic mountains full of charming rhododendrons, and historically preserved villages offering a peek into an ancient way of life. The clear and breathtaking views of the Himalayas can also be a mesmerizing experience.
The Druk (Dragon) Path trek is ideal for those interested in seeing Bhutan's rich culture and its stunning Himalayan vistas without committing to one of the more strenuous treks. This trek provides significant contact with the landscape and culture of this magical kingdom and is designed to maximize exposure to the countryside and provide views of Bhutan's most spectacular mountain scenery.
We have joined a group tour organized by this local travel specialist for Dagala Thousand Lakes trip in 2019.
It was one of the most scenic treks that I have ever been to. All along the way you will be greeted by towering Himalayas like Mountain Jumolhari, Kanchenjunga, Tsheringma and on occasion you may see Mount Everest as well.
I took this trek on end of May when the wild flower was in bloom.
The trek also gives you a glimpse of many glacial lakes.
We had a wonderful trekking experience with the agency. Thank you.
Note: Please bring warm clothes as it can get chilly on such elevation even during May month.
