At the departure time, you will be greeted and picked up at your hotel’s lobby. You will be transferred to a bike shop to choose a good mountain bike for your cycling trip.
Once you get your bike, you will start your biking tour on a scenic, 30-kilometer paved road along the Mekong River toward your destination - the Kuang Si Waterfall. This journey will take you about 3-4 hours with rides over some hills (medium difficulty level).
On the way to the waterfall, you will drop by some villages and pay a visit to the Hmong Culture Museum built by locals to show their life and culture.
Upon your arrival at the Kuang Si Waterfall Nature Reserve, you will walk along lovely forest trail to the beautiful and refreshing pools of Kuang Si Waterfall. After playing with the water, you will enjoy a nice lunch by the waterfall prepared by Tiger Trails.
In addition, you will be taken to visit the Bear Rescue Centre. Here, you will be given a lot of useful and interesting information about the Asian sun and moon bears as well as the ''Free the Bears'' protection program.
After a nice time at the waterfall, you will ride the bike down the hill to Mekong River where you will embark on a long-tail boat and take a scenic cruise about 1.5 - 2 hours along the river.
Arriving at the shore in Luang Prabang, you continue a short ride to the bike shop to return your bike.
End of tour.
This full day bike tour takes you to several destinations and the time spent in each destination can be flexible as per your request. You will be greeted at your hotel at around 8 AM and provided with a well-maintained mountain bike for the tour.
You start the tour by riding from the city center along the Mekong River and through local villages. On the way, you will stop at two traditional guild villages. First one is the village of Ban XiengLek – a village famous for weaving and making mulberry paper. After exploring this tiny village, we move on to the next village of Ban Xiang Hai, also known as Whiskey Village because it is well-known for producing Lao Lao rice whiskey.
Continuing on, you will stop at Pak Ou where the Nam Ou and Mekong River meet. Here, you can enjoy the fantastic views of incredible limestone cliffs rising from the rivers and the caves formed in the limestone landscape. You will then stop for a delicious lunch at a restaurant with an incredible view of both rivers and Pak Ou cave.
After lunch and a short rest, you will embark on a private longtail boat to cruise across the river to the holy Pak Ou Caves. You can see thousands of Buddha relics in both the lower and upper caves.
At the end of the day you get back on the boat to cruise to Luang Prabang. It’s time for you to relax and enjoy the scenic view of Mekong River. The boat ride takes about 1.5 hours to travel 25 km of the river. Upon your arrival in Luang Prabang, you cycle back to the bike shop and return your bike.
End of tour around 5 PM.
This trip was everything we had ever dreamed of and more. The great planning ensured that every detail was taken care of, leaving us free to fully embrace the experience. Most tours were private for my family. Minah and her team did a great job and highly recommend them!

This tour will serve different activities based on 2 different seasons: high water season and low water season. It will be much more fun and exciting during the high water season when the waterfall is flowing, but dirty roads can be more challenging. So it depends on your preferences to choose the one that best suits you.
Here are the details for each season:
High water season (August to January):
At the departure time around 8 am, you will be greeted and picked up at your hotel’s lobby in Luang Prabang. You are then transferred to the Nam Khan River.
Once you arrive there, you will embark on a boat to cruise to the Tad Sae Waterfall which flows directly to Nam Khan River. Coming to this waterfall, you can enjoy not only the fantastic beauty of it but also go swimming in this natural pool. This waterfall is also a popular destination for elephants, so you can see real elephants there and take photos of them.
After relaxing with a refresh swim, you will get on the boat again to head towards our kayaking location where you will be equipped with safety gear to start your kayaking journey through stunning panoramic views of green jungle mountains and Lao life.
You will stop to have lunch, and then continue paddling. It will be very exciting when you kayak through sections of rapids. This journey will take you approximately 3-4 hours to finish the 20km (12 miles) kayaking. However, the time it takes will depend on your kayaking ability. In case you are really good at kayaking, you can have an extension for even longer kayaking from Ban En (25 km).
Low water season (February to July):
A full-day kayaking trip is not available during the dry season due to low water levels and impassible sections. Tad Sae Waterfall is low or dry from February to August. You can consider a half-day kayak option for this season. Please check with us for details.
The trip ends around 5 pm at your hotel.
Very good trip. In Siam Riep, it would have been good to have some free time and maybe some trips other than to temples (e.g. land mine rats). Otherwise, a very good trip overall.

At the departure time around 8am, you will be greeted and picked up by a local tour guide at your hotel. You are then transferred to a bike shop to pick a mountain bike for your tour.
You start the biking adventure by riding out of town along the Mekong River. A region endowed with immense natural beauty and an ancient past, Luang Prabang is best seen through a local's eyes. Interested in exploring this area? Then we have the perfect tour for you.
Meet your tour guide at our sales office early in the morning for a forty-minute drive to Pak Ou Village where you are free to explore the many crafts that the locals make before crossing the mighty Mekong River by a small boat to the base of a limestone cliff, the site of the Pak Ou Caves. Take your time to explore the impressive lower grottos filled with Buddhist statues and scented with burning incense. Grab a flashlight and head up through a winding series of stairs to find another fascinating and easily navigable cave filled with ancient Buddhist relics.
Enjoy your lunch before crossing the Mekong again by boat and continue with a drive downriver for one and a half hours to the famous Kuang Si Waterfall. On the way, we’ll stop to see the popular Whiskey Village where you have the option to sample the locally made Lao Lao.
The jungle around the waterfall remains lush and beautiful year-round. The waterfall cycles between placid, turquoise waters during the dry season to impressive, roaring falls during the rainy season. Either way, you’re in for a refreshing and beautiful nature experience. Integrated into the landscape is an Asiatic bear sanctuary where you can see these beautiful creatures up close and support efforts to care for the animals in the area.
We’ll end this full-day trip with a return drive to Luang Prabang late in the afternoon.
Please note that the stairs in the lower Pak Ou Cave are short but steep. Access to the upper cave is via a fairly long series of stairs and can be taken at your own pace.
The Pak Ou Cave and Kuang Si Waterfall lie to the north and south of Luang Prabang city, respectively. This tour will take you to both these highlights, with a scenic drive up and down the length of the Mekong River between.
