This was a trip full of variety and dramatic scenery, from the surreal Ashgabat, the amazing Darvaza crater, the beautiful mosques and madrasahs of Samarkand and Bukhara to the truly majestic and ever changing scenery of the Kyrgyzstan mountains. Each of the 5 countries had its own unique character. There are some long journeys but they are full of continuing interest with lots of worthwhile stops on route. 99% of the accommodation was very comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean.

This tour was so amazing and Smile made sure it was for all of us!!! He’s an amazing guide, friend, comedian and bodyguard ;)! I couldn’t have wished for a better tour guide. He made sure everyone was comfortable and having fun all the time. We learned so much about the culture and history of Thailand. My favorite part of this trip was the jungle trek and sleeping in the local village. Playing with the kids, seeing them happy and giving them snacks and toys was something that gave me so much joy. A 7-day Langtang trek with this local tour operator is highly recommended! We had five wonderful, tough, fun, beautiful, and overwhelming days of trekking, experiencing Nepal’s raw natural power up close. We hiked from Syabrubesi to Kyanjin Gompa (a 2,400-meter altitude gain!) in three days and descended in two. Along the way, we passed through lush forests, steep mountain slopes, and even snowy trails. When the weather was clear, the views of countless towering peaks were absolutely unforgettable.
The entire experience was guided by our experienced guide, Binod, and our knees were especially grateful to have the kind porter, Rajendra, with us. Binod managed everything perfectly, paid close attention to how we were feeling, and adjusted the pace according to our needs. He was also very aware of altitude sickness symptoms. We took Diamox but didn’t experience any issues. Unfortunately, I caught a bad cold just before the trek, but Binod was ready with medicine, Strepsils, and ginger tea.
He and Rajendra make a fun duo, adding to the fantastic experience! Along the way, the company were easy to reach if we needed any additional assistance – though we never actually had to. We were two sisters on this adventure, and we are SO happy that we gave ourselves this experience!

I had a wonderful adventure to the top of the World. At 66 and fit, I would recommend this to everybody. The Exodus team were wonderful and the whole party got to base camp.

I can’t express how amazing this tour has been, it was beyond expectations! I was really nervous to join a tour not knowing anyone but Milin was so friendly and welcoming from the beginning. The experiences we had (elephant home, water park, cooking class etc) were all surreal, and I’m so glad that we got to take part in that. Milin has been such an excellent travel ninja, she is always so happy and smiley, fun and caring and always ensuring that everyone is enjoying and well looked after.
