My friend and I are both retired teachers in our late 60s. We’ve been to Europe a few times so we wanted to try something new and off the usual tourist path. This tour of South Africa and Dubai was a great choice.
We appreciated that the pace wasn’t too fast. There were days with early starts, especially for safaris, but it was worth it. Kruger National Park was incredible. We saw a herd of elephants. Seeing a baby elephant brought tears of joy! The guides knew exactly where to look and explained everything clearly.
Both of us are fans of good wine, so we chose to do an optional tour of the winelands in Stellenbosch. We tried a variety of wines and cheeses. It was surely a wholesome day.
Dubai was something else entirely. So modern and so clean. We saw Burj Khalifa and wow, it's massive and elegant in a way.
We were comfortable the whole way. I’d say this was a great trip, and you can try it, too.

A wonderful trip which just got better by the day.
The pace was great, sometimes demanding but with sufficient downtime to chill, and encounters with locals so enriching.
Not only did the outstanding natural beauty of the Indonesian Islands make this trip magical, but also our amazing leader Hadi who, simply by his presence, meant that we could rely, relax and enjoy.

Bangkok to Singapore Adventure is a bit different from other contiki trips since we joined an already existing group and there were people joining and leaving throughout.

From the moment I contacted the tour operator, I felt at ease. Their staff responded promptly, demonstrating deep knowledge and genuine passion for every historical site. Our itinerary included Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea and more—each destination exceeded my expectations. The guide was engaging, patient, and fluent in both English and Arabic; they shared stories of ancient Nabateans, Ottoman heritage, and Bedouin tradition in a way that made me feel connected, not just like a tourist. Accommodations were comfortable, clean, and well‑chosen; meals were authentic Jordanian cuisine, often family‑run restaurants with warm hospitality. Transportation was safe and comfortable, with thoughtful rest stops. The pace was balanced—neither rushed nor sluggish—allowing moments to reflect, take photos, or simply breathe in the beauty. A fantastic trip from start to finish. The hotels were to a very good standard and the desert camp was an experience not to be missed. Our guide was top class, he went above and beyond to make sure that we made the most of our stay.

A really interesting trip with lots of variety, and several opportunities to help with preparing food, as well as trying the many tasty dishes. Visiting during TET made it a different experience from normal, a lot of places were closed for the holiday, but we enjoyed the colourful lights, flower displays and fireworks, and saw in the New Year with the hotel owners family.
Our tour leader, Thin Ton, had to rearrange some things but he was very efficient, as well as being good company. It would perhaps be helpful to advise visitors travelling at this time of year that there may have to be changes to the itinerary, although I felt that the advantages outweighed the disadvantages.
