day 1Join trip in Amman

Our tour of Jordan starts in Amman, one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world. Home to almost half of Jordan's entire population, Amman is a fascinating city of contrasts, where the ancient and the modern collide. Get lost in the bustling souks of downtown, where you'll be tempted by falafel and baklawa stalls, or visit the hillside Roman Theatre for a taster of the city's varied history. There are no activities planned for today, so you're free to arrive in Amman at any time. If you'd like an airport transfer today, you'll need to arrive into Queen Alia International Amman Airport (AMM), which is around a 30-minute drive from our hotel. As part of our Upgraded range, we also offer a complimentary transfer to those who have made pre-tour accommodation arrangements through us, regardless of your arrival day. Due to most flights arriving late in the evening, our tour leader will meet you for a welcome meeting the next morning. You'll find the meeting information on the notice board in the hotel reception. When choosing your flights, keep in mind that our tour starts right after breakfast on day two so be prepared to dive straight into the adventure. If you'd like to add on extra days in Amman before our tour starts to explore the capital at your own pace or simply catch up on rest, contact us to book accommodation. Our boutique hotel is in the heart of Amman and it is walking distance from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

Saleh was a remarkable and kind tour leader, nothing was too much trouble for him. Jordan itself is amazing - Petra by night is an absolute highlight, very special indeed!

Trip made far more enjoyable by expertise and friendliness of our tour leader Salah. As well as historical knowledge - Petra, Jeresh etc - it was his local knowledge that made trip stand out for me. I loved his bedouin outlook at desert camp and the way he helped me when I was terrified on the camel trip I chose to go on. I loved the extra bits I did esp Petra by night and boat trip at Aqaba. Was the trip of a lifetime for me and I loved every minute of it, apart from the camel. Hotels friendly and food good. Driver careful and respectful. I was glad I chose the upgraded version as it took the worry away from me and I could just sit back and enjoy everything.

The trip was great. We had a fantastic guide,Salah, who made the trip a really great experience. He adjusted the itinerary slightly which made it better for us. He rec commended good restaurants and he dealt with any problems that cropped up.

4.0 | Very Good

Overall a good trip the guide was very good and looked after the group well. The camp at Wadi Rum was the weak part of the tour a hotel would have been better as the tents and food provided at that site did not add to our enjoyment. The only other niggle was probably to do with the number of tips we were expected to pay on top of what was at first agreed and paid for activities. That said it was a very enjoyable trip and a once in a lifetime visit to these ancient sites was well worth it.
