Accommodations
Simple stays with essential amenities. Typically guesthouses, hostels or hotels rated below 3 stars — clean, no-frills, and great for value-conscious travelers.
Comfortable and reliable 3-star stays. Expect private rooms, en-suite bathrooms, and solid amenities — a great balance between comfort and cost.
Upscale 4-5 star hotels and lodges. Enjoy high-end service, refined comfort, and premium locations — ideal for travelers seeking extra indulgence.
Did a 10-day Vietnam tour and overall it was well-organized and enjoyable. In Hanoi, we visited a tea farm in Ba Vi — peaceful, with a great local host who shared stories from the war. The foot soak at the end was a nice touch.
The Ha Long Bay cruise was scenic and relaxing, with good food and kayaking. Hoi An was my favorite stop — charming Old Town, fun basket boat ride, and some downtime to explore or get clothes tailored. Loved the lantern-lit streets at night.
In Ho Chi Minh, we explored the Cu Chi Tunnels and took a busy but interesting day trip to the Mekong Delta. Accommodations were all decent 3-star hotels, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
The team did a solid job. Good value for the price, and I’d travel with them again.

Amazing trip this is my second time doing it and High is an amazing person and great leader. Would be great to mix up the itinerary a bit to see whale sharks or mantas.

The trip itinerary certainly gave a wide range view of different areas of Southern India and their way of life. Busy bustling Chennai, then to the coastal resort of Pondicherry with a French flavour, followed by the temples and palace of Madurai. Then on to the hills hitting the tea plantations, spices and backwaters of Kerela for a sail along the river. Kochi, a busy town, with lots to see - Palace, museums, churches, synagogue and chinese fishing nets to name a few. A highlight was the toy train to Ooty. Lots to see in bustling Mysore from the Palace, statues, temples, markets and everything on the road together buses, cars, TukTuks, motorbikes, cows, sheep and goats and people! Fun to watch. Another variety of travel is the overnight train back to Chennai, ending with a leisurely day at Mamallapram. A bit of everything - recommended.

A fantastic trip from start to finish. The hotels were to a very good standard and the desert camp was an experience not to be missed. Our guide was top class, he went above and beyond to make sure that we made the most of our stay.

For anyone considering this tour, my advice is "just do it". From the cheerful employee who met us at the Hanoi airport and delivered us to our first hotel, to our fabulous tour guide Diem, the wonderful drivers, the fantastic accommodation, the incredible breakfasts, we couldn't have asked for a better trip. Diem was an outstanding guide, we could not have asked for someone more knowledgeable, more patient, more helpful or more kind. He had our days organized to the minute. This man is an amazing person and can take credit for our wonderful tour of Vietnam and Cambodia. Our days were much fuller than expected and we appreciated how much was crammed into each day. We saw and experienced a lot more than we thought we would.
My advice to anyone taking this trip and thinking about flying back to Vietnam after Cambodia, check to make sure you have a Multiple Entry Visa. We made a mistake on this checkbox and were denied onto our flight of out Siem Raeap. As it was the Lunar New Year and the offices were closed it looked as though we were going to be kept in Cambodia another five days but with Diems help and help from a few others, we were able to fly out the next day. He saved us . Don't make that mistake! It's this type of tour guide that makes tours the way to go. If we had done the trip on our own, it would not have turned out so well.

An interesting destination with a fascinating culture.
The cuisine is delightful and this Explore trip gives you an insight into the preparation of the local food.
The flora is very colourful, but bird watchers will be very disappointed. There is more birdsong in my garden than two weeks in Vietnam.
The Vietnamese are extremely friendly and helpful. The traffic is daunting.

Great trip but with long bumpy off road drives. Accommodation in Gers the first week was very basic, Gers having big gaps for cold air and small animals to enter. Some of the shared showers only had cold water. I slept in my coat a couple of nights in the mountains as only 5 degrees and too cold to face a tepid shower. Food however was a surprise being a non red meat eater, the alternative was chicken with lots of fresh salads, vegetables and some fruits.
Our guide Sara was nice but lacked the skills for a large group. I had no complaints but some of the group had issues which were resolved and avoided at the next stop. Some mis information was given, so we were a little confused.
We managed to arrange with Sara and Explore a trip to the Genghis Khan statue and museum at an extra cost the last day which was worth the detour.
Camel riding in the Gobi was fun and for half hour we paid around £5.
