Arrive in Vietnam's capital, Hanoi, famous for its rich culture, bustling life and colonial influences. Its small lakes, busy streets and secluded alleyways are all waiting to be explored. For those arriving on time, our tour leader plans to meet you in the hotel reception at 5pm for the welcome meeting and for those who wish, there is the chance to go out for dinner. There are no other activities planned today, so you're free to arrive in Hanoi at any time. Should you miss the welcome meeting our tour leader will leave a note at the front desk and will inform you of any essential information as soon as you catch up. If you'd like an airport transfer today, you'll need to arrive into Noi Bai International Airport (HAN), which is around a 45-minute drive from our hotel. As part of our Upgraded range, we also offer a complimentary transfer to those who have made pre-tour accommodation arrangements through us, regardless of your arrival day.

I had a wonderful time in Vietnam. The guide did his outmost to make sure everyone was ok. Lovely small group. There were a few changes to the activities on the itinerary that I wish Explore would have notified me about beforehand. Their app is very useful and if they could update changes on it would make it even better. I don't recommend the hotel we stayed at in the Mekong river (Coco Riverside Lodge) and would have preferred one night there instead of 2 and have another day in Hue where there was so much to explore. Overall a great experience and my first group tour!

We had an amazing time on this tour, helped by the beautiful weather we experienced . We felt we got to see the real Vietnam, not just the touristy sites. We really enjoyed the variety of activities set up for us: from bike tours to boat trips, from cookery classes to meeting local artisans. We loved the visit to the organic farm in Hoi An as we have an allotment ourselves. The standard of accommodation was very high throughout and the Tour leader - Theo- was fantastic: extremely knowledgeable as well as caring. We really enjoyed his company and his infectious cheerfulness. We have no hesitation in recommending this Tour to others .

Excellent tour- largely due to Theo, our outstanding tour guide who went above and beyond! Hotels - mixed. Most were excellent but the hotel in Hoi An, despite a great location, did not live up to the"upgraded" category. Food - outstanding Itinerary - overall was excellent, although I thought that the time in Mekong could have been better spend elsewhere; perhaps another night in Hue or Hoi An. Overall, it was a great tour!

Our accommodation was meant to be premium but some hotels such as The Lapis in Hanoi had mould on the walls and a dirty bathroom or Vinh Hung Resort in Hanoi An, which was still suffering badly from the floods. Rooms smelled really bad and were exceptionally damp. Then on the other end the Senna Hue and Coco Riverside Resort were magnificent. Our Tour Leader was brilliant. Fixing any issue along the way be it rooms or transportation or recommendations for Vegan food. The itinerary was slow enough to still be relaxing but filled with enough to be exciting. There was only one really long day and it didn’t help that the driver was late. It meant our trip to the airport was a rush.
