Following a pick-up from your Chiang Mai hotel, transfer to the starting point of your hike (1.5 hour's drive) and begin with a gradual climb past through various plantations and deep jungle. You will be surrounded by unspoiled nature as your experienced trekking guide leads the way. There's a good chance you will encounter people going about their daily tasks. Throughout the hike, you'll come across scenic views of the valley below, and walk by coffee plantations. Your local guide will share information about the area and explain the customs of village life in northern Thailand. End up at a house for a rewarding Thai lunch with local fruits and freshly brewed coffee.
Afternoon, you'll transfer by car (45 min) to the nearby Sri Lanna national park and its scenic lake surrounded by forest and jungle. After a short paddle briefing, you'll navigate on your sit-on-top kayak, exploring the area inside the lake. Paddling and relaxing time. The paddling time is approximately one to 2 hours, depending on participant's fitness conditions.
Change and dry at a local restaurant, then transfer back to Chiang Mai for a drop off at your hotel at approximately 17:30.

Although Nepal is known all over the world for its mountains and is home to some of the highest peaks on the planet, this country is equally rich in culture and history. The people in and around Kathmandu follow rituals that blend elements of both Hinduism and Buddhism, something that you will realize as you tick off the temples and stupas located in and around the city.
Also included in the itinerary are Nagarkot and Chandragiri, two towering hills located on either side of the valley that offer gorgeous sunrise and sunset views along with a panoramic mountain scenery.
Our gastronomic trip to Vietnam was excellent. We experienced a very wide range of food and in a wide range of locations. We tried street food in Hanoi and Saigon, ate the freshest fish and seafood on boat journeys and had a delightful meal home-cooked by a family. We helped prepare food in several places including spring rolls, savoury pancakes, and Vietnamese bean cake. In addition to eating (lots) there was plenty of time to experience ancient historical sites and to scratch the surface of the relatively more recent wars that the country has suffered.
Our tour guide, Hung, was excellent. He had a great sense of humour and was one of the best guides we have experienced. We were a small group - only 4 of us. We got on really well, meeting as strangers but parting as friends, including our guide. A great trip all round and would thoroughly recommend.

Makalu Base Camp Trekking is one of the best treks for travelers to explore Nepal's isolated and uninhabited mountains. The Makalu Base Camp, located at an elevation of 5250 meters, is the trek's ultimate endpoint. It is blessed with a pristine scenery and abundant natural beauty. With its beauty and diversity, Makalu (the fifth-highest peak) draws a lot of travelers looking for adventure. With the 17-day Makalu Base Camp Trekking, you may take in the breathtaking Himalayan views and get a sense of how remote Nepal is. When you visit Makalu Barun National Park, you may hear the sounds of nature in addition to the stunning mountain scenery. Due to the several high altitude passes, Makalu is among the most difficult base camp treks. A short saddle (7200 meters) connects Kangchungtse (Makalu II, 7678 meters) and Chomo Lonzo (7804 meters), two famous subsidiary peaks of Makalu. By global standards, each peak is a sizable mountain.
Starting from Tumlingtar, the Makalu Base Camp Trek ascends the Arun river valley to Sedua and Num before crossing the Shipton La Pass (4210 m) and entering the upper Barun river valley to get a close-up view of Makalu and Chamlang Himal. One of Nepal's most uninhabited and isolated regions is visited on this trek. The Makalu Base Camp Trek starts in Tumlingtar and continues up the Arun river valley to Sedua and Num before crossing the Shipton La Pass (4210 m) and entering the upper Barun river valley to get a close-up view of Makalu and Chamlang Himal. A distant and rarely traveled region of Nepal is visited on this expedition. According to a deal between the governments of China and Nepal, which includes 830 square kilometers of conservation area and 2330 square kilometers of national park in Nepal alone, the Barun valley is a component of a vast international protected region.
