Eastern Europe City sightseeing Tour Reviews
Real traveler feedback from City sightseeing tours across Eastern Europe
Our guide Barbara was great and all of the local guides excellent. Hotel in Milan was nice and even though not in the middle of everything, still a very nice location. Trento wasn't much to see and hotel location was in nowhere. Bazano was a nice stop and lovely tour guide. Hotel in Cortina was beautiful, great location, miserable keys to the room - really miserable. The Dolomites were everything that I had hoped they would be, you were on the top of the world. The history of Northern Italy is fascinating. Hotel in Venice was nice enough, but felt far away - difficult to get your bearings in Venice. The late afternoon drink in St. Mark's Sq was magical. The music, the famous Italian songs, the quietness of the square was perfect. We then went on two wooden motorboats down the Grand Canal at dusk - simply beautiful. Our stop on Lake Garda was ok. Town was very cute, but the amount of tourists was unbearable. Literally ferries frequently dropping off large amounts of people - quite clausterphobic. Our hotel on Lake Maggiore Grand Hotel Bristol was incredibly beautiful. Rooms were huge, smelled new and very modern - loved it. Unfortunately by then, I had the flu/pneumonia and stayed in. Mostly Americans on the trip every one was very nice. I will say I have preferred the trips that have a nice international mix (Trafalgar Croatia/Slovenia was the most diverse). Beautiful trip.
It was easy paced, but still covered a lot of sites. The optional offers were great for us in Budapest as we weren’t as familiar with the city, while we could go on our own in Vienna and Prague. Our main guide was fantastic and kept us informed and moving the whole time, while the local guides were all experts and gave us a great feel for all three stops.
The tour guide Al was exceptionally talented with his knowledge especially being an archaeologist. The sites we were taken to were fantastic. Rooms with sea views, restaurants that looked after its guests.
It’s a very good tour, but sometimes felt like it needed to be slowed down a little. There were some highlight places such as Porto and several other locations, where there was so much more to see but little enough time. In an ideal world, if we could have chosen to stop when we loved a location, like getting off a train, and then pick it up again as the next one came through, it would have felt so much more like a holiday. Just a few slower paced days here & there might be good. But overall an amazing experience and so glad we did this. Thanks guys:)
It was an excellent itinerary as well as excellent Travel Director and coach driver. Thank you very much. I was glad to decide to take all options offered. However, back-to back options in Venice seemed to be too much for summertime. Dinner at the restaurant in Dolomites was spectacular!.
This trip provided optional activities to make the tour more or less active. We participated in all but two optional tours and felt the trip moderately active. A very nice pace to take in thr history, environment and local culture. It was truly a wonderful trip and the local tour guides exceptional.
