We had a wonderful time on this tour. We feel like we saw the key spots on the South Island and had time enough to enjoy ourselves in several places. Of course we needed to get up early nearly every day, but that's to be expected on a bus tour. There were plenty of breaks scheduled during the day and lots of extra activities to choose from. Our tour guide was tremendous and kept us entertained. We were the only Americans on our tour. It was mostly Australians on the tour, and there's definitely a difference in language between the US and Australia. So a lot of references went right by us.

The South Island of New Zealand is a stunningly beautiful landscape and having been there before but driving you miss a lot of the beauty. A guided bus tour is the perfect way to see the landscape because someone else is doing the driving and I could look and take pictures as we went. The Southern Spotlight tour is the perfect way to do this.

The trip was well paced and most every activity was very interesting. I wish that the tips for the bus drivers and city tours was prepaid in the cost of the trip. It would be easier than having to come up with the $$ on the spot and would insure the tour guide of getting tipped properly. Ivan was terrific and were all of our city guides. In my opinion they really made the trip exceptional.

A great holiday, Athens is well worth a visit but doesn't need more than a couple of days to explore unless you intend to venture outside the city. Naxos is beautiful, particularly the inland towns included on the walking day. The only 'downer' on our holiday was a couple of people having their baggage stolen on a ferry!! Santorini is spectacular with some amazing views. The whole trip was excellently led as I've come to expect with Explore and lovely hotels throughout.

From having the best group of girls to the best tour guide ever— it has truly been an amazing experience that I’m not ready to have it end.
