Excellent

Arthur was a great guide who provided us with a good insight into the Latin quarter. He was a lovely guy with a good sense of humour which made the tour really fun and we particularly enjoyed our stop for wine and charcuterie followed by a game of ptanque. Merci Arthur!

My partner and I did the Let Yangon Take You For a Ride day tour, our guide was Thura Lwin, we was a great guide, who had clearly dedicated a lot of time to learning English and taught us a lot about the local culture and language and it was great talking to him the whole tour. The train ride itself was different in a good way, a whole other side to Yangon, we both had a great time and I recommend it to anyone.

"Let Yangon take you for a ride" was a fantastic way to get a glimpse of the different aspects of life in Yangon, from the hustle and bustle of downtown, the nuances of suburbia, the serenity of rural life and the frenetic experience that was the vegetable market at Danyingon. Our local guide Myo ensured that it was not just a day sitting on a train, by providing insight into life in Yangon, navigating monsoon showers and keeping us well watered and fed. The most charming surprise was an email several days later complete with photos of our day - thank you so much!

Having only arrived 7 hours before my "Let Yangon Take You For A Ride" tour was set to start, I was a bit nervous that my jet lag would get the best of me. But it turned out to be the perfect experience for my first day in Myanmar. Although culturally intensive, the lazy train ride through urban then suburban landscapes, villages and agricultural areas was beautiful. Thura was early and eager to get going. As the only one on the tour, I was privileged to get his full attention and get a chance to ask all my burning questions. He's passionate and proud of his country, open and honest, fluent and well-spoken. It was a real pleasure to spend the day with him - like hanging out with a local friend. This tour is the ultimate local experience. I didn't see a single tourist during the whole trip and I loved taking on local transit, being thrown into the middle of an abundant, lively vegetable market, and getting to have my first taste of delicious Burmese food. This tour really inspired the theme for my trip, which started that evening - to paraphrase Henry Miller, "Burma is not a place, but a new way of seeing things".

Mio was really great - fun and personable. His English knowledge is excellent and very fluent. My one suggestion - and it is a minor one - is that he slow down a tad and ennunciate a bit. My older ears sometimes had trouble keeping up.

Arthur was a most personable and gracious host whose passion for Paris and the French way of life was infectious. Next time we come to France I just want to take him with us everywhere we go !! A hugely enjoyable and memorable afternoon. Thanks.
