Chania Tours and Trips

We liked that we were 2 nights at every location. We were able to see & experience local sites you can't see from a cruise ship excursion. This wasn't the typical tourist islands, but so much more of the ancient historical areas of Greece. Visiting the Archaeologica historical sites was most intriguing. Also, got to experience the local life, like beekeeping, olive oil making & local dining.

Fantastic walking in springtime Crete, wildflowers all around. There were only 4 of us ( where were you all) but we all got on well and had similar walking stamina. There were only highlight for me was the Soumaria gorge, from the sea upwards. Felt suitably tired but very pleased with myself at the end! The tour leader, Alex was great, very knowledgeable about the history of Crete and a keen walker himself. The Cretan people we met were lovely and the food, predictably was fantastic.

Our Insight Vacations Greece Undiscovered tour was absolutely outstanding and exceeded our expectations in every way. What made this tour so special was that it went beyond the typical Greek highlights and took us through incredible regions of mainland Greece and Crete that we may never have discovered on our own. The hotels were excellent, the coach was comfortable, and everything was organised seamlessly. We especially loved the time spent in Crete, which was a real highlight of the trip. The included local experiences, food tastings and cultural encounters made us feel connected to the places we visited rather than just passing through them. Most of all, our Travel Director and driver were exceptional. Their professionalism, knowledge, care and sense of humour made the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a tour that combines ancient history, spectacular scenery, authentic Greek culture and premium travel experiences, I highly recommend Greece Undiscovered. It truly was a trip of a lifetime.

Another fab walking holiday with Explore. Pan our guide was very knowledgeable, had great people skills and not one to immediately move off when I caught up. I was confident all the time he would keep us safe. My only small gripe is, despite having paid a single supplement , there was a tendency for the hotels to give the better rooms to the couples.

Very enjoyable walking holiday in Crete with a really excellent guide who is very knowledgeable about walking and the regions of Crete we visited and is always enthusiastic and encouraging. This was also a great group of people on the trip who all got on well and we encouraged one another. The circuit going south from Heraklion and then west and ending in Chania worked well with ascending walks, a descending walk, a 'cliff' walk ending in a town walk (Chania) was a great mix. We encountered large crowds on the descending walk (Imbros gorge). We won't forget the very wet early morning boat ride to reach the starting point of the walk up San Irini gorge and also the skill of the boat captain! We received great receptions in the hotels visited especially in the small hotels along the the south Crete coast.

A Really good trip. Weather was bad at the start of the trip and we missed one of the walks. Itinerary had to be changed around our Guide Smaro was great and looked after everyone. Crete was amazing and food was piled high, A salad could be a main meal at the size of it. A great Holiday with a good group.
