This trip was made extraordinary by two absolutely outstanding guides, one in Cambodia (Sokchea) one in Vietnam (Truong). Their knowledge, communication skills, good humour, organisational skills and sheer passion for what they do was incredible. We arranged additional tours with our guides, and being able to depend on them for taking care of every detail, from supporting with transport arrangements, recommending and taking us to great local restaurants and evening shows, sometimes joining us for fun, ensuring that our access to sites of interest was smooth and hassle-free, whilst providing a fascinating and insightful perspective on history, culture and lifestyle. In Vietnam, Truong is an incredible asset to Explore: he went above and beyond his remit every day to ensure that everyone in our group had the best, most enjoyable experience. This was priceless, his energy and enthusiasm, and superb social skills ensured that this was an unforgettable trip of a lifetime. We learned so much, and genuinely shared laughter, food and good company. This Explore trip, due to the local guides, and wonderful company of our small group, totally exceeded our expectations.
Having a small group of 5, meant that we were able to get to know each other along the way too, and shared a lot of fun. We hugely enjoyed our “Happy Team” and hope we’ve made some new friends too.
Hotels were mostly great, some more basic but overall good, clean standards. Some excelled, like Cat Ba Paradise Hotel; only one was quite disappointing and a bit frustrating in their really inefficient check-in processes, Trang Hotel in Bangkok, which wasn’t helpful after long-haul journey. Otherwise, good accommodation and friendly helpful staff along the way.

Travelling as as single person i find Explore group holidays a good way of seeing countries and places i wouldn’t go to alone. I enjoy the groups company finding like minded people to share meals and have fun and laughter together.
Darjeeling and Bhutan is a wonderful trip and experience that i strongly recommend.

Excellent tour where close encounters with a variety of animals, most notably Mountain Gorillas, are virtually guaranteed (with all the planning involved, you'd be extremely unlucky not to see Gorillas in Bwindi).
On the tour you also find out about the efforts made in conserving these rare animals and how that sometimes impacts on the human residents in the area both positively and negatively. We had not been to Marseille or Barcelona before so this was a perfect trip to link the two cities and our love of cycling holidays; mid October the weather was just right and we managed to dodge any rain! Our guide Weronika and driver Lluis were an absolute star team, nothing was too much trouble and their enthusiasm and energy never wavered.
Weronika guided us safely each day and was very knowledgeable about the places we visited so we learned a lot about the history of the region; Weronika’s spirit and humour was also infectious! We were told Lluis was famous for his picnics and he certainly lived up to this, the food he produced on the road was superb.
We had a great time, cycled along some beautiful coastlines and also up and over the Col de Banyuls with fantastic views. Thank you to Weronika, Lluis and all the group for helping to make it a fun trip. Catherine and Harry

We cannot recommend this trip highly enough. The variety of experiences was enormous -from the craziness of Kathmandu, to the laid-back nature of Pokhara, to the jaw-dropping majesty and vastness of the mountains-we loved it all. Our guide, Jangbu Sherpa, was brilliant throughout the whole holiday. His calm and knowledgeable presence was appreciated by the whole group. He looked after us, motivated us and inspired us when the going was tough.
