Winter in Egypt: Top Destinations and Weather Tips

Starting in October and ending in February, Egypt in winter is characterized by mild temperatures and little precipitation. In the capital of the country, Cairo, temperatures range from 9°C in the coldest month of the year, January, to 29°C in early October. Precipitation is extremely rare, with an average of 2 days of rain per month.

As you head south, temperatures tend to increase and precipitation becomes even rarer. For instance, Aswan, located on the Nile, experiences highs of 36°C and lows of 9°C. Here, the only month experiencing precipitation is October, with an average of less than a day of rain.
